Celek got no love before the start of last year and went off for top 5 TE numbers and entering 2010 he is still ranked just inside the top 10.

I see no reason why he will shy away from his 2009 numbers and think he will improve if anything. I can see why Gates, Clark would be ranked ahead of him and maybe Finley (too much hype in my opinion) but I see him equal with the likes of Davis/Witten/Gonzalez.

People keep saying oh Zack Miller is the guy you want late in your draft at TE - but why not draft Celek a round or two earlier and get a guy that is on a pass happy offense that has proved his worth already?

I would take Celek ahead of Witten, Gonzalez, and Davis - and think that he is more like the number 4 or 5 TE for 2010.

Thoughts?

celek is a good pick. apparently he is kolbs favorite target in camp and they are bffs. also, he is by far the iggles best red zone target. i think i have clark, gates, finley, celek in standard scoring. ppr witten moves ahead of him.

I got him at 7.03 so I am not complaining just surprised to not see him as one of the elite TE's

with Kolb at QB this year you are going to see alot more short stuff going to Maclin/Celek/Avant/McCoy. PPR all these guys will put up some points.

Who's not loving him? He's getting drafted right up there with the elites.
I have him and I'm actually a little nervous. He hasn't done much in the preseason and the whole Eagles offense, especially Kolb, has looked bad.Kolb needs to get his stuff together in order for Celek to have a good year, imo.

I like Vernon Davis but with Crabtree there for training camp and the whole season and Gore being the beast that he is I don't see him catching as many balls. I think Davis is better in the Red Zone though

I got Celek in the 9th round of a 12 team Philly area draft and thought it was a steal. Now that I have seen the Eagles offensive line in action, I'm concerned. He has been pretty invisible in the pre-season because he has had to stay in and block way too much. If the OL doesn't pick it up - Celek's numbers may go down rather than up. :X
