:lmao:

Went on a little long, but he says "DeAngelo Fall" is goin down this week. Ocho-Cinco says he will score 2 TDs Sunday and will be celebrating. "In Chad We Trust" dollar bills.....

click MULTIMEDIA tab and watch Chad in the locker room.

:lmao:

Man, this guy is a clown. I sure hope he can score at least one TD for his sake, and mine :Palmer owner:, because what does that say about CJ if Hines Ward can toast Atlanta's secondary but not him?

You know what's not great? When a guy talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.

He hasnt talked much this year, and hasnt produced much. Maybe he NEEDS to talk smack to produce?? Maybe its how he gets his competitive juices flowing which motivates him more.

If he doesnt produce this week, he should probably stop talking. But if it works.......more power to him.

That's how he works.

 If thats what you want to hitch your wagon on my friend, then good for you. He must have been being quiet so as not to produce too much thus far then?

Not what I meant. I think Chad being vocal has an effect on his play though. He hasn't seemed himself at all this season.

 This i can buy. Might have to do with that nasty hit he took a while back...or that friggen hair.

CJ supposedly goes into how talking trash helps him play better in the Sports Illustrated that comes out this week. Sports Illustrated

He has also said in interviews over the past month or so that until they start winning games and he starts producing, he has no right to be talking trash which is probably why we haven't heard as much from him with all the O-line problems. I for one like him; I think he does it all in good fun to play better and if it gets them going and scoring...talk away Chad!

All mouth, no production. As others have mentioned, there's not much doubt that his bulletin board pursuits hurt the team and his own production.

While I'm briefly paying attention to a zero production player, I guess I'll throw out how ludicrous it is for ESPN to involve itself with a player's own self promotion in those moronic commercials. They are paying a fitting price though, since these commercials have become equivalent to coming up with a home run trot for David Eckstein.

Chad Johnson knows how to sell.

Attention is good for him, good for the Bengals, and good for the NFL.

Huh? CJ started doing this last year IIRC. They made the playoffs for the first time ever last year. They are tied for first this year. They hadn't had a playoff season in ages before last year. What on earth are you basing your statement on? Listen to his teamates in the background of that interview- they clearly have no problem with him and feed off of him!

This last weekend was the first time I got to see CJ play a game.

Did anyone see his catch down the sideline on that 4th down play? It was freaking awesome. :excited:

FWIW, I like his schtick and hope he starts producing so we can see more of it. And I don't own him in any of my leagues. :(

Lewis clamped down on him and didnn't want his antics this year. Can't find the link to the story, but it was recent and I believe on the Blogger.I think it may sound crazy, but that hurts him -- he plays to have fun -- you cut down on the fun and I think his productivity suffers. He showed some of the old flash with that great catch last weekend. Maybe they ned to let loose the Mouth of Chad and let him be him again.

you are SO correct. All these people who keep bringing up the injuries to the Bengals O-line have no clue. The struggles are a result of Chad Johnson's colourful interviews. Great Post BIG Jim!!!!

His team is tied for 1st in the division and is leading the team in receiving yards and tied for catches. Housh is getting all the attention for having 4 TD's, but having CJ out there makes it a lot easier for him get open. I think Chad cares more about winning than whatever stat totals he has at the end of the year.

How exactly are having injuries in the O-line related to CJ's mouth? When they lost Braham the offense started to fall apart. Taking into account that Palmer was coming off his injury, the loss of Braham at center, among other injuries to the O-line, it seems that Chad's mouth is the least of the worries. Last year they had the same O-line line up for 14 of 16 games, this year they have been different almost every game. Last season CJ ran his mouth and produced, this year he hasn't done either as much. In interviews when his teamates are asked about him, they all love him. Seems players like Thurman and Henry would hurt morale more than CJ.

You serious, Clark? (I think that Barry was being what they call "sarcastic")

Maybe I am alone in my opinion. I personally think he'd fair better, as would the team, if he wasn't motivating the other team to bust him/them. I'm guessing he takes a few more hits of the sort he took earlier this season if he keeps making friends. I find it hard to believe positive impact on his own team outweighs the negative, and I think it's a little silly to say the team was in the playoffs because this guy has a mouth. They are/were a good team, period. That they were moderately successful doesn't preclude that they couldn't have been even better if teams weren't out to make an example of them. Also I seem to recall the Bengals losing after CJ flipped out at halftime because he wasn't being made a centerpiece. In any event, I'd be inclined to give far more credit to Carson Palmer's development than CJ's weekly 'who's covering CJ' chart. And don't even get me started on the fact that the Bengals rely on a mouthpiece like this to lead/motivate them. I've followed the character of this team... unsurprising. I'd be interested in knowing the last great NFL team that was anchored by a self embellishing prima donna. I can name a bunch of great teams that were anchored by humble professionals.

He's missing a marketing opportunity. Instead of fighting the fine, he should publicize that he's giving an 3,686 so that the total fine is 8686.

He's a funny character and I realize that he's good natured about his ribbing but his constant chatter each week without the top tier results that he predicts is starting to make himself look like the boy who cried wolf. He should probably tone it down a little until he actually has a good game and looks like the dominant receiver he's calling himself.
