Chad Johnson (1 Viewer)

In the last 2 years:

Chad Johnson has scored TD's in only 7 games.

Notables:

Owens - 19 games

Wayne - 15 games

Moss - 14 games

Holt - 13 games

He'll be a Top 5 pick next year in most drafts. It's ridiculous, but you know it will happen.......

Good research. He always puts up top 5 numbers, but you tend to remember that one game where he puts up 180, 3 tds. His tds do come in bulk. But more often than not, he will have a bad game it now seems.

Moss consistent?? Here's a little trivia question for you:Who had 3 more touchdowns than I did last year?

What about the two years prior to that, when Chad Johnson scored in 15 games?

Over the last two years, Chad Johnson has been insanely inconsistent, easily the most inconsistent WR in the league. Over the two years prior to that, he was one of the more consistent WRs in the league. I have no idea what caused the switch, but there it is.

On the bright side, Chad Johnson is on pace for 189 fantasy points this year, which will mark the 5th straight year he's finished with between 181 and 201 fantasy points. From a game-by-game perspective, he might be maddening, but from a season-to-season perspective, he's Mr. Reliable. Which is why he'll be one of the first 5 WRs taken again next year, too- and deservedly so.

1) Moss2) TO3) Wayne4) EdwardsThose 4 go before CJ for sure. I'm sure people will add others to the list. Brandon Marshall? Holt? Steve Smith with a health Delhomme? TJ? I think there's a chance CJ, with Henry stealing more in a full season, falls OUT of the top 10, let alone be in the top 5.

Moss and Wayne, certainly. TO might, but I don't know how people are going to react to the fact that he has yet another year of age on his legs. He shouldn't have fallen as far as he did this year after a stud season last year, but age concerns knocked him down then, too. Edwards... maybe, maybe not. If the Browns roll with Quinn instead of Anderson, or if there's even a risk that they might, do you think anyone would spend a top-5 pick on Braylon? And Marshall in the top 5? That seems like a huge reach to me.Top-5 next year, in my mind: Moss, Owens, Wayne, Andre Johnson, and Larry Fitzgerald. After that, outside of maybe Torry Holt, who are you going to take over a guy who has a resume like Chad's?

I road this train last year and it was pretty shakey... knew from then forward to stay away...

He won't be a top 5 pick next year. Someone will go after him as their #1 WR, but most likely he'll be a #2 target. Housh will be a #1 next year

:excited:

Owned him for four years. Traded him this year, but I couldn't agree less.

He was probably the only player on my roster that I could count on each week during that span. He's $$$.

In his defense, he was much more consistent in the 3 years before your cutoff....

2005: scored in 8 games, had 90+ yards in 3 others.

2004: scored in 7 games, had 90+ yards in 2 others.

2003: scored in 7 games, had 90+ yards in 3 others.

The thing about a guy like CJ is that he is very valuable as long as you don't rely on him for your WR production... which is a pretty rare thing I would think in a redraft format since he would typically be a teams #1 WR. I have him in a keeper league and for me he has been great because I have built an elite squad of WRs over the years. As long as your other WRs consistantly produce it's nice to have CJ around for his occassional monster games, but if you don't have that built in production his inconsistancy could be maddening. For round 1 of our playoffs (this week) I struggled with but eventually made the call to sit Chad this week because my normal bench warmer (Brandon Marshall) had been much more consistant of late.... other than bye weeks CJ has been in the lineup all year (and I'm very happy with what he has done) but when it came time to rely on him in a must win game I decided I couldn't risk a potential single digit output.

My WRs are Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, Marques Colston and Brandon Marshall. Chad used to be a great #1 guy... now he's a great 1a.

CJ had two huge games last year that completely made his season statistically. But in most other games, he just didnt do much. And he hasnt been any beter this year. Right now, he's looking like one of the most overrated players in all of football. Imo, he's gone from Cinci after this year. Watching him 'pout' on the sidelines last night while those guys were struggling is just embarassing. I see a trade in his future, and depending on the team he potentially goes to, I see him bouncing back next year and returning to form. The Bengals just need a big time shakeup there in leadership and attitude.

I have watched a lot of Cinci this year as I have Chad on all my teams. 1) Carson Palmer is VERY overrated. He was talked about a clear 3rd best QB in the game, but i just don't see it. he has all the physical tools and does make some great long passes, but he is just not that sharp or something is missing. With Housh and Chad and henry he should be doing far better than he is. He misses a lot of open guys. Chad gets the #1 corner every time they play and Housh is allowed to run through zones much easier which is why he does most of the inside work (along with Chad being less tough). But, anyone who thinks that Housh is a better receiver for an NFL team is kidding themselves. The Giants should get Chad next year to give Eli a target to throw to. Not saying Eli is better than Palmer, I am just saying the Giants are a team in need of WR help. Plax is a weapon, but he has been on one foot all year and Toomer is a 4th WR

I agree with you about Palmer. His decision making is just questionable. The 4th and 3 throw from the Niners' 24 into the endzone with over 2 minutes to play in the game pretty much sums it up for me. He should have made a 4 yard underneath pass and moved the chains and kept that drive alive. Instead, he throws up a low % shot into the endzone that was fairly well covered and that would have been a tough catch either way. ??? Why would he do that? Even if the pass is completed, and they tie the game, he still leaves more than 2 minutes on the clock for the Niners to drive and potentially kick a game-winning FG. His technical skill is fine. But his vision and decision making are really lacking. 13 points vs the Niners?? That falls directly on the QB.

No, he is consistent...consistently crappy. He had some big games early has pretty much sucked all year. Scoreless for 8 consecutive weeks???!! Then when he does score he mugs for the camera - self promoting as always - even though his team is about 3-8 on the season. You also saw him crying and complaining to Palmer many times on the sidelines this season. Then he goes out and drops balls. Great team player. His schtick is way past getting old. Oh well, at least he has been playing well to close out the season....wait, no he sucks now too. Anybody seen his defensive back checklist lately? I'm sure he abused each and every one of those backs that covered him.....at least in his small mind.

You mean the one that Chad dropped?!
