Champ Bailey did not shut down MSW last week (1 Viewer)

This has been repeated verbatim all week. That Champ shut down MSW. Well I just watched the shortcut on Directv and Champ stayed on the same side of the field the whole game. And I would say about 90% of the snaps, MSW was on the other side of the field. He was covered by #21 pretty much the entire game. Just an FYI

thanks for the heads up....I am so close to cutting him as I remember him pulling this crap last season. I think he just isn't that good. Thinking of dumping him for that Lanegu or even Cammarilo (I can't spell any of these guys). I think Cam will be great in PPR in another couple weeks

From what I've read, MSW was bracketed by a CB and safety the whole game and Garrard threw to the guys in single coverage.

I didnt count but I think Garrard only looked at him twice.

The guy that grabs him off waivers will thank you later.

I'm guessing they rolled coverage his way? If so, it probably accounts for while Lewis and Co. had decent games and MSW played second fiddle. He didn't pout though, as he threw a hell of a block on a Lewis TD, IIRC.

This is correct, I watched most of this game.As I have said elsewhere, Garrard looked good and threw all over the field, including deep. Even if you don't like MSW, you have to gant that he is the most talented WR on the JAX team, so it only makes sense that some of those looks will start to go his way.

Uh no you don't. Mike Thomas out performed him to end last season, on into training camp, and again in game one. If people are still sleeping on this kid they need to wake up. He's fast with good hands and has the trust of his qb

No he didn't, he's just not who the defenses fear as much so he's open.

1-10-DEN 47 (1:26) (Shotgun) 9-D.Garrard pass deep middle to 80-M.Thomas to DEN 21 for 26 yards (24-C.Bailey)

1-10-JAC 30 (7:38) 9-D.Garrard pass short right to 33-G.Jones to JAX 29 for -1 yards (24-C.Bailey).

Bailey had just 2 tackles - one on Mike Thomas and one on Greg Jones.

I thought MSW had a TD catch that was either overturned or was nullified by a penalty in the game, if I am not mistaken.

The key is to not over react to a week 1 disappointing performance. MSW has talent, but is still a young guy learning the ropes of how to play the WR position in the NFL -- he also plays for the Jaguars, a team that will struggle to win games and score points consistently.
