Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
Did I miss something here?Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
That's what I've been trying to tell you. You're no help whatsoever.Maurile Tremblay said:Not tonight evidently, but I don't know what happened.Chaos Commish said:So he is not starting at WR?Maurile Tremblay said:Last I heard he was going to return some punts tonight, but I haven't seen him in uniform so I don't know.Chaos Commish said:It's great to hear him break it down. What's with Craig Davis, Maurile?Maurile Tremblay said:LT is awesome at play-by-play commentary.
is this for real?Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
Thanks. No injury, right?Standing on the sidelines with gold teef.Where is Edge?
Looked like an ankle. Also, Tyrone Gross is done for the year after dislocating a kneecap and tearing two ligaments in last week's game.Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
Yes. Looks like a foot/ankle.is this for real?Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
He's had a few guys wide open, but yes, he looks good.Leinart looking as good as the box score indicates? I'm tivo'ing the game and will prob. watch later, just curious.
It was easy to miss. He wasn't carted off the playing field. He was carted from the sideline into the locker room. It happened during a commercial, and when they came back from the break they showed a clip of it. He was sitting on the cart with ice on his ankle and the announcers said they had no idea what the deal was.Did I miss something here?Ouch.. Turner carted off. No word why yet.
Cool, thanks. My league awards the same points for QBs hitting wide open or double-covered receivers, so I'm good. He's had a few guys wide open, but yes, he looks good.Leinart looking as good as the box score indicates? I'm tivo'ing the game and will prob. watch later, just curious.
i'm hesitant to draw any conclusions based on a game where LT doesn't play. not that Jackson doesn't look good.OK, I'm starting to think I need to bump up my projections for Vincent Jackson...Oh yeah, and did I mention that people are sleeping on Rivers? Where's Jeff Paquino?![]()

Exactly, why?Stupid!hmmm fitz and boldin still in.
Oh, he's just having his little preseason moment. Once the real games start, he knows to step out at the one. Those scores belong to LT . . .I seriously think I'm going toThe following is my impression of those of us who were hoping to steal Jackson late:

Damn, I prolly dropped him too soon.Just said Craig Davis didn't play because he had some wisdom teeth pulled.
Also, as good a weapon as Sproles is, he's not a better weapon than Tomlinson. Sproles may get some plays in certain situations when Tomlinson is being rested, but I don't think they'll bring Tomlinson out specifically because they want to use Sproles instead.Sproles with another huge gain. 6 rushes for 20 yards and a TD plus 5 catches for 59 yards. He looks like a serious weapon if they can get him the ball in space. I assume the challenge with him would be getting him on the field enough so that the defense doesn't know it's coming to him on a screen or swing pass every time he comes on the field.
John Spanos. He's actually a very bright kid. (I guess he's not really a kid anymore, but I coached him in football and basketball when he was in high school, so I think of him as a kid.)I couldn't understand anything Josh Spanos was just saying in that interview because I was fixated on the amount of times that he said "ya know". I wish I could rewind that ish and count.
Obviously he isn't as good a weapon as Tomlinson. That said, his speed and elusiveness in the open field is too good not to figure a way to involve him. They are obviously different kinds of players with different strengths, but I'm not convinced that Turner is definitely a better guy to rotate in with Tomlinson than Sproles. I mean, if you're looking to pound the ball, Turner is clearly better... but what I mean is just generally how to spread out the RB touches that don't go to LT. For example, suppose Turner's high ankle sprain kept him out of a couple games. I think Sproles could be a very effective backup, given that they would call different plays for him than Turner. Also, as good a weapon as Sproles is, he's not a better weapon than Tomlinson. Uh-oh. Not good. The handcuff is off. I guess that makes Sproles #2 for now.Hank Bauer (on the radio) says Michael Turner has a high ankle sprain.
They were in that game. Florence looked okay. The rest were bad. Weddle and Cromartie gave up big plays late in the game. The starters got roasted early. Is the SD secondary as bad as the numbers suggest?
ThanksSo what should we expect out of that defensive unit come the regular season?Stout against the run and roast duck against the pass? They were in that game. Florence looked okay. The rest were bad. Weddle and Cromartie gave up big plays late in the game. The starters got roasted early. Is the SD secondary as bad as the numbers suggest?
No #### Quentin - let me know when you are in the right place. Hopefully that means on someone else's roster. I mean it's only been 6 years for Toast Jr. Add to that, Florence and Cromartie were getting beat one on one and I think it's going to be a long season for that secondary again. Something needs to change there, be it personnel or coaching, but the excuses at this point as to why this has not been addressed sufficiently don't make sense any more.Simply put, I'd look forward to starting QBs and Receivers against the Chargers this year in FF. Their games could be high scoring affairs.“You can do things like that in preseason; you can't do it in the regular season,” said cornerback Quentin Jammer, woefully out of position on an 80-yard touchdown pass from Leinart to Anquan Boldin. “You have to be in the right place, and I wasn't in the right place.”
I wouldn't read anything at all into the preseason performance, but assuming for the sake of argument that the DBs will stink again this year, I still don't think it's fair to say the team hasn't addressed the issue. It's a bit like saying the Lions haven't addressed WR. Charles Rogers and Mike Williams both sucked, but at least the Lions tried to get some talent there. (Maybe Weddle and Cromartie will be our Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson.)The Chargers' top three corners are a first-rounder, a first-rounder, and a second-rounder. The departed Sammy Davis was also a first-rounder. Weddle and Kiel were second-rounders. (And Weddle carried a first-round grade with the Chargers.)Add to that, Florence and Cromartie were getting beat one on one and I think it's going to be a long season for that secondary again. Something needs to change there, be it personnel or coaching, but the excuses at this point as to why this has not been addressed sufficiently don't make sense any more.
