Charles Woodson at SS some (1 Viewer)

What is the deal with Woodson moving in to take some snaps at the SS spot in Green Bay? As someone who was planning on keeping Morgan Burnett at this Wednesday's deadline, this is giving me some pause. Will Burnett remain on the field in the FS spot? I'd hate to see this twist cause Burnett to fall off from Top five-ish production into DB2 territory.

Anyone have any insight on how all this may shake out?

Honestly I don't know completely, but from what I've been reading GB is one of the teams that doesn't exactly run a true FS and SS. Other thing is Woodson would play safety in the base Defense, which they actually don't run very often...

With all that said I am a tiny bit worried about his production too.

SS is often closer to scrimmage and often makes more tackles, but two things you can look at is that Burnett did well last year, and he was more the "FS", and FS in that defense can score well, Nick Collins always scored fairly well. As long as Burnett doesn't break his hand again...

In either case Woodson is a stud in CB required leagues. My only question is, he's not going to be redesignated to Safety on MFL is he?

I did read somewhere that GB runs a lot of 4-2-5 formation (the author was saying they run a D like TCU). Does MFL do multiple position eligibility like ESPN? Where a player like Woodson if he was getting significant snaps at each position be listed as a CB, S?

I don't know of a single guy with dual eligibility in MFL. If they switch him that would be a crushing blow in some formats.

I made a post about it in the position change thread, but I just don't get this position change. Woodson is still going to be playing CB in more than 50% of the snaps, so what protocol is being used to make this change?

My guess it's just a matter of Rotoworld's depth charts, which I believe is what MFL uses to determine positional eligibility.
