0-3, leading off in the 7th which is coming up after the break. there's a good chance chase will get another chance in the 9th but it would be nice to get the hit here

:kicksrock:

going to need a philly between now and the end of the game to NOT record an out for Utley to get a final chance at it

or for the cardinals to tie it up and send it to extra innings,

SAFE! Comes down to the scorers...

and they score it a single, nice!

34

How long do they have to discuss if a hit was actually a "hit". I can't remember this ever happening before. Maybe you don't hear about it unless it's to continue a 34 game hitting streak.

Good ruling. Did anyone else here the STL crowd boo?
You cannot be serious.Booing, as they should.A tapper to the pitcher is not worthy, besides the fact that scrub paused to go to third, before he threw wide. How can you see that any other way, seriously? And I was rooting for the guy.
I was serious. Guy was on base no matter if it was an E or a hit. They were booing the streak being continued.

If a guy was intentionally walked in every at bat of a game (say 5 IBBs) would he lose his hitting streak or do you need at least one at bat?

Cards making a good game out of this. My brother's supposed to be on the local news and I'm dvring it in lieu of this game. Don't tell him.

No. From MLB.com:
Determining player performance streaks:

Consecutive Hitting Streaks: A consecutive hitting streak shall not be terminated if the plate appearance results in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt. A sacrifice fly shall terminate the streak.
P.S. Nice name for this thread.
