1) Poster board from Staples / OfficeMax / your choice of stationery store.2) Avery 5160 mailing labelsNew league is forming and we're having an off-line draft.
Some labels would be nice but really $30-40 is more than people are going to want to pay (cheap-o undergrads). Are there really cheap ones out there or should we just go with markers?
The quality is fine... It's just a big sheet of grid paper. The color-coded labels make it easier to see how each team is drafting as well. Overall, the "board" itself could be a little thicker, but it'd be tougher to mail. Regardless, I've been a customer for a long time now...There's something to be said for a "live draft" atmosphere. I don't think my league would have it any other way. There's nothing better than teasing your buddies for some of the bone-headed picks they sometimes make. The draft kit makes it an easy way to keep track of those picks...$20 ain't bad at all for the time-savings.
I actually found that site first and then got distracted looking at all the other places and didn't notice how cheap it is. How was the quality?
No one brings a computer to our draft and we've been using a draft board for a few years now. I started by making by my own but CBS started sending one free a couple of years ago. We like it.I really can't imagine a need for draft boards anymore with the availability of places that have free online drafting. MFL offers one for its leagues (can be done without purchasing the league) that allows the draft room to be run off of one computer and announces each pick for you. Just about everyone has a computer--hold the draft someplace that has internet access and bring a computer with you.
If you must use a draft board, get some poster board a couple different color markers and get the hottest wife/girlfriend of the owners to play "Vanna White" for a few hours.
I just checked with Joe. He tells me we're not doing it this year. Going to put a hold on it for 2006 and re-evaluate for 2007.Are FBG's offering draft kits again this year?

Please do. I was going to go with FBG again this year, but since they are not offering the product, I was looking at these guys. Let us know what you think of the board/labels. Thanks! We had been using the " Draft Kit" for the last few years. It was a good product ( aprx $24 shipped). This year we are trying FJ Fantasy. Using the coupon from the FBG magazine. I went with the Jumbo size and it is on free standing cardboard. About double the price$ 51 with shipping and discount. With the regular size board, owners were having to stand up to read the players names. (Older guys league). From their web site, this jumbo board and labels look really big. [b[i will give some feedback when i receive it.
