Don't mess with Texas
Andy has been the Head Coach of the Eagles since 1999 and he's considered one of the better coaches in the NFL......................BUT........as we've watched over the years the Eagle fans have very high expectations as well as they should. He's a good to great coach, has won division titles, been to 5 NFC championship games, and nearly won a Superbowl. Since 1999, no one has sent more players to the Pro Bowl, the highest total for any team in the NFL. He's the EVP of football operations and has the power of the General Manager and the list goes on!!!!

According to sports writers, analysis, fans, etc...this is one of the most talented teams he's ever had "on paper" and not only the favorite to win the division but to represent the NFC in the Superbowl.

With that being said, do you think this year is his last year chance to put a stamp on his legacy as a part of the Eagles organization or will he be given another chance?

Check: Given Another Chance

Can't see the front office wanting to give him the boot but can picture some Eagles fans dropping Cowher's name if something goes bad. ( not saying Cowher is a good fit )

As an Eagles fan I doubt Lurie or the front office would fire him unless he smoked crack on the field or ate Joe Banner.

He would need consecutive losing seasons and even worse personnel decisions

It doesn't matter what us fans think here in Philly. If we had any sway, Reid would have been gone back in 2006. Lurie will keep Reid as long as he keeps making him money. Reid gets about 10 wins every year and a playoff appearance. Lurie likes the money that rolls in from that. Reid will be the coach here for a long time if the Eagles continue to win enough games every year.

Speaking of Cowher, the guy coached for 13 years before he won a Supberbowl and he's thought of as a god in Pittsburgh. Before that year, his playoff record was 8-9. Reid has coached less years and has a better playoff record. Philly fans want him gone? You guys are nuts.

:goodposting: It's crazy how fast guys go from "what a choker, he'll never win the big one" to being one of the biggest winners of all-time.This whole idea about coaches "not being able to win the big one" is just crazy to me.

i have a hard time responding to anyone who writes superbowl as one word not two. it's Super Bowl.as for the eagles, if you put up a poll on FBG for NFC favorite, it's not a lock the Eagles would emerge as the favorites. the packers, saints and falcons are all very good.

Andy is an excellent preparation coach. He will gameplan during the week and get guys ready to play better than anyone. His problem is on gameday. He doesn't adapt well to what other coaches do to his team. His half time adjustments are non existent. When he gets stopped by another team, he falls back on passing 90% of the time. The worst is that he has made the same mistakes so many times. Clock management for example. He is one of the worst 4 minute coaches of the last decade. He wastes timeouts to challenge ridiculous plays and doesn't challenge obvious ones.

I would argue that much of Andy Reid's clock management criticism can be directly tied to Donovan McNabb. Isn't it curious how well the Eagles 2-minute offense looked last season with Mike Vick running it?

I'd say it was both. We still blew timeouts in curious places and the reason Vick had such mad comebacks is because he can still run while DMac couldn't. I still think the play calling leaves something to be desired in the redzone.

He will last longer than Jason Garrett, BigTex.

ETA: Assuming he doesn't pass away from heart failure or some other obesity related illness.

If they miss the playoffs I think Reid's time is done. The minimum needed to keep his job, with the way expectations have been ratcheted up, is by making the playoffs and that would be over the loud complaints from Philly fans.

What have you done for me lately? That is sports. No one can deny Andy's success. I don't think anyone would try to. He put the Eagles on the map in a big way and helped make the owner and franchise a ton of money.

But if you look just at the past couple of years and where this team appears to be headed, then the question, "What have you done for me lately", becomes a relevant one. It happens all the time with good players and good coaches.

I think it's funny that people would argue that there is no justification for people wanting a change...that he is somehow untouchable and the same rules don't apply.

What has he done for the Eagles lately? Back to back wildcard playoff loses and an almost impossible shot at the playoffs this season. An offensive line coach with no experience becomes the defensive coordinator and fails miserably, resulting in a team with tons of offensive talent losing despite putting up almost 500 yards a game these past two weeks.

Face it, the Ownership of the Franchise spent a lot of money this past season. Why? Because they figured this was their shot. This was the year that they could put it all together. They had super bowl hopes and were willing to pay big money for it. They could have saved all of that money and put a 1 - 4 team on the field. This is a tremendous disastrous of a season for the Organization. It is not all ridiculous to think that they would be justified in firing him after this season, after spending all that money, and getting a horrible return on their investment.

Someone should be fired for letting that terrible O-line from last year get substantially worse. I swear, I'm holding my breath whenever Vick drops back and the madness ensues. Then if it's actually complete, I'm like"whew". Then it starts over on the next play. Talk about making it look hard.

I think this decision will ultimately be his undoing.
