Chicago Bears homers (1 Viewer)

I've got an unenviable decision to make this week at the TE spot and I've been looking for inside info on Greg Olsen. All I can find is that he partially participated in practice this week. I've got Owen Daniels against a tough looking Carolina defense so I'm hoping Olsen may be back this week. I am looking for big things out of Olsen later this year when he is healthy and becomes a fully active in the offense, opening things up for Benson .

The question is he going to be on the field on Sunday, and if he is are the Bears going to bring him into the offense slowly or immerse him fully into the game plan?

Also even when he comes back fully will he see the field much or are the Bears going to use Clark more this year as a blocking back if Benson continues to struggle running the ball?

Any inside info from the sharks in Chicago or in the pool in general?

He was limited in practice again Thursday. If you can wait, I would see what he does today - but I wouldn't get your hopes up. With Desmond Clark and what looks to be a relatively easier game Sunday, I would think that Lovey will bring him along slowly. If he does play at all, he will likely see very limited action.

In terms of Clark blocking more - I honestly think Benson will be okay. Keep in mind this was the Chargers defense. They are stout up the middle and I think Ron Turner had a fairly poor game plan in place to deal with their inside presence. The combination of Charger "stoutness" up the middle and the speed they posses on the outside is not typical of most teams the Bears will face. All that said, I don't necessarily think Clark will block that much more than last year.

I do think once Olsen get's healthy, he will definately cut into Clark's receiving numbers and TDs.

I wouldn't play him this week. He's recovering well from the injury, but even if he plays, it's his FIRST NFL game and I doubt they'd make him a big part of the game plan.

Do you think once Olsen is 100% back he moves into the solid #1 TE position where Clark sees his play time drop off significantly, will they rotate TEs dependent on the play type, or will they go more of a two TE set-up?

I think (hope) we will see more two TE sets as I think that formation suits our personnel better this year. I think when not in a two-TE set it will be a rotation barring several spectacular performances by Olsen.

I've seen alot of talk about Olsen so I thought I'd pick him up on the cheap and wait until he's healthy and productive, Just wondering if Clack will take significant production from him even when Olsen is 100%
