To be fair it's by far the safest and most efficient short yardage play in football. If he's hurt seriously it's the worst luck ever
To be fairrrr

sorry too much Letterkenny but I agree, lots of shark pool coaches who just need their shot in the NFL to win countless Super Bowls.

wierd there...looked like they popped his leg into place...then he's walking just fine?

Mahomes certainly didn't act like that was a minor injury. He was grabbing his head looking like he was about to cry.

EDIT: ewwww they reset his knee. Oh he's in trouble.

No way. Not with all those bodies falling around and on top and a sprained ankle. That's a dislocated knee and he'll be out for months.

That was a dumb play call when your guy is hurt. Take the chance with the handoff and don't let him run around.

We’re about to get the “Mahomes is ruled OUT for the rest of the game,” with no feedback on what the injury was.  He won’t be back in tonight.  I’ll be grateful if he’s back in a month.

Not really, to be fair, everyone from Aikman to Buck to anyone with a pulse knew it was a distinct risk.

To be fair, a lot of SP coaches were right.

Did they have pop the kneecap back into place?  Could he come back tonight if that was the injury?
Looked like a slightly dislocated knee cap and that’s not a long recovery. They do pop right back in like that.  I bet he’s back next week. Probably not this game though.

I don't disagree that since he's gimpy it probably requires that context. Just in general QBs never get hurt on that playcall. Like never.

Don't think I've ever seen a serious injury on a QB sneak. I thought it silly ONLY because of the gimpy ankle, wouldn't take much for a lineman to give it a little twist at the bottom of the pile

The thing I don't get is why have him walk back? Do they think he can't have any more structural damage or the knee won't give way? Because I've sen a knee give way before when the guy was walking back.

KC won't need him tonight. He's my stud in one league where I'm a super heavy favorite, and facing him in a another where I'm a small dog. WOuld love to see Andy rest him tonight but not serious

Thanks.  My daughter has dislocated her knee cap twice (I actually popped it back in the 2nd time) and that's definitely what it looked like to me.  She had to wear a knee brace for a while but she's not a pro athlete so I'm not sure what the typical recovery time would be.

Defensive TD means they'd feel even more comfortable keeping Mahomes out for precautionary reasons even if he was miraculously fine

Was just going to say this.. KC isn't going to need him up 14 already.. Save him

Where is @Dr. Dan when you need him?
As others have said, seemed like a dislocated knee cap. The mechanism of injury is consistent as well as what they showed how they "popped" it back in.

He should be okay. Could have torn some of the tissue holding the knee cap in place but he seemed fine once he was walking more

They were on the TVs today saying it was not a good idea to play Mahomes tonight...not sure what they were talking about specifically relates to the new injury, however he had no business running a sneak tonight and that just should not have been in the playbook....for gawds sake hand the ball off and get 1 yard.

I doubt we see Patrick vs Green Bay and Minnesota, just my opinion.
