Texans placed RB Chris Brown (back) on injured reserve, ending his season. An MRI may have shown structural damage to Brown's back. The 27-year-old is easily one of the league's most injury prone players. If he recovers, perhaps Houston will release Brown with an injury settlement. The Texans' lone remaining tailbacks are Ahman Green, Steve Slaton, and Chris Taylor. Aug. 30 - 3:57 pm etSource: Houston Chronicle

Most underrated player in fantasy football right now is Ahman Green.
Overated IMHO
Who exactly has been pumping him up or talking about him starting/producing for him to be overrated? 2 weeks ago he was rumored to be cut until he reconstructed his contract....so how is he overrated?I agree about him being underrated cause when healthy (and that has been rare) he still can produce.

He's the starting RB most likely to break down.

For many people, if he's on a fantasy roster, he's overrated.

 Dude is 31 yrs old and played 25 games in the last 3 yrs. The fact that people even have him on their draft list is wishful thinking.

What you call wishful thinking is what wins leagues. People over-react to a player's age or injury situation and ignore that the hardest thing to get in the NFL is opportunity. A player who will definitely get opportunity but has a greater chance to miss some time is often more valuable than the player who is less likely to be hurt, but who pretty much requires someone else on his team to be hurt to get any opportunity. In recent years guys like Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, Warrick Dunn, Issac Bruce, Terry Glenn, Derrick Mason, etc, have outperformed their draft slots and provided the same value as "healthier" or "non-washed up" players that were taken many rounds ealier than them.Yes, players like that have risk associated with them, but older/injury prone proven players often have a better chance of paying off than does an NFL backup who will only get touches if the starter ahead of him goes down.In the case of Ahman Green... any RB who is likely to get at least a half-share of his team's carries if healthy is worth a roster spot in any but the tiniest of leagues.

That's a good point. I think Ahman is unique to the above group in that hes 31 and coming off a ruptured quadriceps injury only 3 yrs ago. Out on IR last year for a knee bruise?? Likely hood of getting decent amount of carries not looking good. He's not making my RB2 and I'm sure I can find a better WR flex option or future keeper more worthy of my draft slots. Love someone else to waste a pick on him. But that's my opinion.

It's a full blown RBBC between Green, Taylor and Slaton until one or more drop off due to injury.

After watching the game versus Dallas, I liked Chris Taylor between him and Slaton. I think Slaton may have prettier runs, Taylor is a straight forward, hard running game who appears to do his job.

In that game, he started in that game over Slaton and in the 2nd quarter after Slaton was in, Houston got the ball with 2 mins to go. Out came Slaton and in came Taylor for the 2 minute drill. To me, Chris Taylor is ahead of Slaton but what does that really mean? You can't start any one of these 3 players. I doubt the leading rusher on the team hits 15 carries for the game.

Crystal Brown, the guy has great skills but just can`t seem to stay on the field. Browns upright running style had led to too many big hits.

Well, no one should be taking him to be your RB2 or your flex player. You should take him to be your sleeper or your 5th or 6th RB, after you already have some guys that are a surer thing to get consistent playing time. You take him in the same area of players who may have a stretch of games due to injury to other players where they may be worth starting or a bye week filler or a flex spot, but where you can't count on them to be an every week player. And amongst those type of players, an Ahman Green should be extremely high up on the list. You say his likely hood of getting decent carries is not looking good, but it is a lot better than the backup RB on a team with a workhorse back or the 3rd best guy in a RBBC team.
