Quickly going through the play by play from the NFL gamebook, it looks like Chambers was targeted 6 times, but only caught 1 ball. Were they bad passes, or was he dropping them? Did anyone watch the game and know what happened?

Other than 2007.He did drop two catchable balls yesterday that I remember.

the funny thing is that Chambers will drop 50% of them but then pull in some circus catches. I saw it all the time in Miami.

You'd have to prove that one to me. No WR would be in the NFL if they had a 50% drop rate. None.His catch % may be around 50%, but that's not the same as drop rate. Catch % includes all passes where the player was targeted, and could be incomplete for reasons other than drops.

Is he the guy who broke out in his third season with 963 receiving yards and 11 TDs? Or is he the over-hyped bust from last season that finished the season with only 677 yards and 4 TDs? Is he the victim of the terrible QB play that the Dolphins has last season (6.77 YPA) or is he a guy who simply can't catch the ball, no matter who is throwing to him (59 receptions on 154 targets for a 38% catch percentage).

Chambers is the type of fantasy player that you DON'T want to watch play.

I've been frustrated by his play in the past and will leave the heartburn to others now.

However, he's still a good option to have and has played well since joining the Chargers.

What does that have to do with me explaining that (1-catch percentage) is not the same as drop rate? Do you think every time a ball is incomplete it counts as a drop?

He and teammate Vincent Jackson are both actively vying for the NFL's 'Stone Hands' title. Word is that Jackson was disappointed with his 3 catches of 4 targets for an amazing 75% catch rate. "I'm frustrated," a visibly upset Jackson stated. "I want that title pretty bad. I'm not sure what happened today. I guess I remembered to put Tack'em on my gloves and to reach OUT and catch passes away from my body while tracking the ball in. It won't happen again. I'll get back to my old ways next game. I can't afford to get any further behind Chris on drops."

The "last season" mentioned there is 2006. Last season he had 970 yards receiving.

Seriously? It's not like he was a first round pick. All the guy did was get a touchdown this week. I have him in one league and am quite happy because I got him for pretty a pretty good value. I understand he drops the ball more than most but his time in San Diego, he has been pretty productive. Off topic slightly, but what is up with all the buy low and sell high comments on every single player? Is this day-trading or fantasy football?

He's the best WR the Chargers have had since at least Tony Martin, and probably since Anthony Miller. So that's why he's starting.

Yes he drops balls. Yes he can still be very productive despite that. He's a nice value pick in a fantasy draft because many GMs tend to give the issue too much weight.

Chris Chambers is ultra athletic and has amazing body control. He can jump through the roof and can pull in passes that make your jaw drop. In past years, he was a nice red zone target because of all of the above. He also does not have very good hands and has concentration lapses. You take the good with the bad and hope he helps your team win. TO drops a lot of easy balls too. Chambers is not even a poor man's TO, but he can still perform.
