Chris Henry - CIN (1 Viewer)

Not to make this a WDIS thread, but I'm wondering if I can use him comfortably as my WR3 this week. Any Chad updates? Does Henry start if CJ doesn't go? Cincy homers please chime in.

This is the only thing* I am looking forward to as a Bengals fan this season. Henry is flat-out special on the field.

*2-14 would be nice too. We need Glen Dorsey

Can he be good as a WR3? It seems that his best numbers were put up when Housh was hurt. Missing 9 games can't really prepare him well.

Depends on how you look at it. On the positive side, he'll have fresh legs and will be drawing less coverage than Housh and CJ.

It will be also be interesting to see if CJ is ready to go this week. The last I heard, his injury was fairly minor.

I think alot also depends on the status of Rolle and McAllister for the Ravens. If they are out again then i can honestly see Palmer distributing the ball amongst the three if CJ plays. So after saying this, yes I will be starting him with confidence.

Are you sure he will be active for the game?

I am dropping S. Moss for him. His upside is big. The Bengals have a nice schedule down the stretch and Henry should have something to prove.

He has been praticing now with the team for two weeks, hasn't he? I would think he would be able to come in and contribute at least modestly in the first week back. And after last night's Raven's performance, I think he is worth a shot this week.

The only thing that would make me not start Henry at this point would be if CJ plays. If he does, then I'll re-think.

The only question at this point is whether Clown Johnson will decide he can get more attention by actually playing in the game . . . or by patrolling the sidelines in a neck brace and wheelchair . . .

Starting Henry over S. Smith and Ike Hillard here... Using him as a WR#3... I have TJ Housh and Braylon Edwards...

I posted this in a different thread, but I'll post it here also:I would argue that he's more valuable if they are both healthy. They take the pressure off him. In 2006 Henry had:1 TD in 4 starts (CJ or Housh out)8 TDs in 9 games with CJ and Housh playing.

I'm a Cinci homer, and if I'm you (and I am, I have Henry in one of my leagues) if CJ plays, I without question start Henry. When he's been on the field I've seen time and time again defenses focus on TJ and Chad, even after Henry has burned them. General feeling around Cinci is that Henry for all his faults really is the stick that swirls this offense. He's an absolute chucklehead off the field, but is a legit #2, and someday likely #1. I'd ALMOST be willing to bet Cinci puts up 35+ this week, because he's back. Palmer will look to him early and often, and he will be open.

"He's here working," Lewis said. "He's fine."

This is what I was thinking also, CJ & Housh get the #1 & #2 coverage, and Henry gets the scrub DB, etc. I like Henry better when CJ/Housh are playing.

I don't get the upgrade to TJ and Henry if CJ is out by FBG. I think they are dead wrong. TJ is NOT a down the field threat or a reiver who can "break it" for a long td like Chad. Henry can do this, but he doesnt normally run long routes...

:nerd: by faller and gopher. This is the right answer.Henry is a good WR3/WR2 in fantasy (especially in TD-heavy leagues) because hes the perfect WR3 in real football in a high octane passing offense with 2 pro bowl WRs in front of him. Im starting him this week. I picked him up in week 2 and have held onto him. It is time.

He looked good in the preseason, and it doesn't take much for a WR to get into game form. He's been practicing for the last few weeks so I would think he's playing this weekend. Should make the Bengals O a lot more dangerous. CJ and Henry outside so Housh can work the slot. They should be able to cover the 40 points the D will be giving up. 6-2 the rest of the season.

:goodposting: Of course if tj or cj is out his value climbs, especially in PPR. That said though with both playing he turns into a mathcup nightmare as most teams dont have 2 good corners let alone 3.

This is how I feel too. I have Marshall and Jennings going. I cant see benching them unless CJ is out. I was scared about the BAL Defense at first....but after watching the Steelers light them up.....I could see Henry in the role of Santonio Holmes with a couple TDs

So here is the real question - for this week, if you have CJ AND Chris Henry, which is the better start?
Any chance that you could start both? I'm considering going with Housh AND Henry this week in a league where I can start 1RB/3WR or 2RB/2WR, swapping out Travis Henry for Chris. With the way Baltimore's secondary looked Monday, I can definitely see both hauling in a score. Of course, the concept of going with two wides from the same team may not be everyone's cup of tea...

Palmer stated in pre-season that he loves throwing to Henry..that is good enough for me.
I saw this as well and was wondering what the context was. Was he asked a direct question regarding how much they will miss him in the line up or ?. I only ask because for some reason I was under the assumption Palmer gets fed up with henry a lot so as a Henry owner it was refrseshing to see Palmers quote.

assuming CJ starts and gets the clean bill of health, i start them both in a 3WR league. unless of course youre rocking braylon and plaxico or some other ungodly duo of WR studs.heres to hoping henry falls to me on the WW.-biz-

Chris Henry Accused in Newport

Wideout accused of menacing, harassment.

By 700WLW News

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Newport Police were called to the parking garage of Newport on the Levee Tuesday night, on reports of a pair of disorderly customers. Investigators say Chris Henry and another man, Desious Dyneal Alston fought with a valet parking attendant after they tried to park their car without paying. An argument allegedly ensued, with Henry reportedly saying "don't you know who I am." Levee Security was called, but the pair left. The report says both Henry and Alston were banned from the Levee and were asked to leave. No one has been arrested.
classic :excited: from a Cincy poster at another notable FF site.

I'm still quite apprehensive starting a WR3 that hasn't played in a game since December 06.
That is my fear as well. With Moss on a bye, I don't have much else to choose from. But, if I had the luxury - I would take a wait and see approach with Henry.
