Chris Perry Starter prospects? (1 Viewer)

Ok, I was curious as well, so here's what I came up with on Perry's injuries. I had a difficult time finding stuff prior to 2005 so I might have missed something, but it should be pretty close. The big injury was 2006 - the details are somewhat sketchy, but it looks like he severely injured his ankle in addition to breaking his leg.2004 - 2 Sports Hernia injuries, surgeryDec 2005 - Sprained AnkleApril 2006 - Knee ScopedJune 2006 - Ankle?Nov 2006 - Broken Leg (fibula), Plates / Screws inserted. (Also had ankle surgery at the same time?)June 2007 - Ankle (Still recovering the same thing)Nov 2007 - IR'd for ankle injury (not fully recovered from previous surgery)Been a long 4 years for the man….While I was digging up the injury info, there was also a headline back in May (08) that stood out a bit for me. I can't link it because I think it is subscriber material, but the speculation was that the Bengals "passed" on a RB in the draft because the team felt Perry was healthy. I thought it was significant because if that was the case it could be yet another sign about what the Bengals as a team think about Perry and what he can do.
I think I remember something about how Perry was unhappy with the doctor that performed his surgery, that that had something to do with the prolonged recovery...

 Thanks for taking the time to look this up and put it in a post for the rest of us. Much appreciated Cisco!

Anyone else hear the "Fantasy Focus" show on ESPN Radio a few minutes ago?

The host, Eric Karabell, matter-of-factly stated that Perry would be the starter, and he expected him to have a big year.

Speculation on his part, or did I miss something?

Bengals | Team to use RB-by-committee approach

Sun, 17 Aug 2008 12:46:42 -0700

Chick Ludwig, of the Dayton Daily News, reports the Cincinnati Bengals will use a running back-by-committee approach in 2008. RBs Rudi Johnson, Chris Perry and Kenny Watson will all share snaps.

everything I heard or read says RBBC, but who knows. I stay away from this RB mess

I'm a Perry fan since he's an ex-Wolverine. I think he's more talented than Rudi but ironically hasn't been able to live up to his ironman reputation from Michigan. Those 51 carries vs. MSU happened a long time ago. All Perry needs to do is prove he can be a workhorse like he was at Michigan. So far he hasn't been able to do that, but he's certainly capable. Perry has been unlucky with injuries but so have most NFL RB's, and this is probably his last chance to redeem himself. I fully expect him to earn the starting role and hopefully he will stay healthy.
