Christmas 2017 - What are you getting the wife? (1 Viewer)

It's less than 8 weeks till Christmas. If we band together we can make it through this. Let's brainstorm ideas, gents.

Wife also wants to upgrade from her 5S. What are you thinking about getting her and have you done any pricing? I hope to find a 6S or 7 for a decent deal on black Friday.

She'll keep an iPhone, like you I'm looking for a deal. She doesn't want one of the $1,000 models.

 
Tickets to Cinderella at the Theater. Which also unfortunately includes me accompanying her. Last year it was tickets for Guns-n-Roses. Much more tolerable.

Same here.  Wife’s 5S battery goes from 30% to 2% in minutes.  Waiting for a sweet deal on a 6, 7, or 8.  

Since several of us are in the market, PLEASE POST IN HERE if and where good deals can be had and I will do the same.  

 
Probably won't get her anything.  The last couple years we haven't gotten each other anything and just focus on getting presents for the kids and other family members.  We're the type that if we want something we just buy it when we need it.  Makes it hard to get presents that way so we just don't do it.

new den furniture
new fireplace
new appliances
new kitchen cabinets and countertops
new bed room set for kid #1
new flooring throughout 
all new light fixtures
additional 800sq ft of living space

just put an addition on the house, redoing the kitchen and all the crap that goes with it. She gets nothing under the tree this year. Although several contractor's wives will have a fantastic christmas this year on my dime. 

 
She wants an iPad since she has an original mini so will be getting a new one for her. Other than stocking stuffers that will be it this year.

Had our first child on the day after Christmas last year. Gonna get a family pic framed with her favorite song lyrics written on the frame (chorus of Diamond Eyes by Shinedown). Have not shopped around for this yet, hoping it's not too difficult to find.

I'm going to be scouring eBay come Black Friday. I'd prefer to not buy one used, but would be ok with a refurb. Wife would prefer Rose Gold, so my options are a touch limited.

ETA: Amazing how expensive these are. My LG was like $60 at Best Buy and I like it more than her phone.

I got hit with Mothers day, anniversary and Bday in a 12 day span.  I hit a homer with the Dyson Hair Dryer. 

Its $400, so it might make a nice stocking stuffer for some you guys.

 
I might do the 23andme thing. We've been vaguely interested in trying it out, so might just do it as a gift to each other while it's 2 for the $99.

While my wife would love to have this, she would have to tell people that I got her a hair dryer for Christmas and that would not go over well. Even a $400 hair dryer. 

 
sleepnumber, trying to find out which model is at the best price point and if they go on sale at all leading up to the holiday.

Same. She's been asking about doing one of these DNA testings. That seems like a very good price.

Amazon phone...$230, probably less on black Friday

I'm intrigued - got 3 women in the house with long hair and it's always some fighting going on for hair dryers.  You say life changer - does it just dry your hair really fast or is there something I'm missing here?
