Talked with us for over an hour. Lots of great stories about old days vs. current players. Handfuls of uppers on the table, players got in line to shoot up, everyone played hurt. Also the differences in rules - "can you imagine trying to bring down Kellen Winslow Sr. and not be able to come in helmet first?"? He's now big time in scouting services for high school and Juco players. Has 50+ full time scouts all over the country putting on combines, etc. Sells to colleges. Talked about Joe McNight, Terrell Pryor (think he said best athlete he's ever seen), etc. His new company is getting licenses to do live video streaming of high school games (all sports) all over the country. Oaks Christian HS was their first game last week. Said Montana kid will be OK, not great. Knew Clausen was way overrated. One of the nicest former players I've ever met - totally down to earth guy.

The younger guys won't realize what a fantastic player he was, but he should also be admired for turning his life around.

I was a fan of those late 70's and early 80's Chargers teams, and I always thought Muncie's look, with the goggles and that uniquely curved facemask, was cool.

Still wear those glasses?
Yep - actually started laughing saying he and Eric Dickerson used to talk about being the only guys wearing glasses/goggles.. ED saying his were more stylish. By the way, he said he's never had a knee surgery, perfectly healthy. Said many of the old school guys were unbelievable. Jim Marshall - said something like he played a ton of years in Canada before his umpteen years in the NFL. Something like 25 years - never missed a game (general #'s - I was hammered).

I did a boat-load of schnitz with him on the 1979 Saints, one of the most drug-addled teams in modern sports history.
