Cincinnati at Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Burfict can add Oscar winning flopper amidst his usual accolades of being a headhunting disgrace. He was pretty good at it too, getting a call on Steve Smith after shoving him to the ground twice then acting like he got decked when Smith's knees grazed him as he stood up to confront Burfict.

Marvin Lewis is ######ed. How did he not know they got lucky with that spot?

Called a TO thinking he was safe and it gave Harbaugh a chance to review the spot and then challenge.

It's like Lewis wants to be fired.

Dixon with a nice move to make Kirpatrick miss a tackle. Dixon gets up the sideline for a 1st down also making a LB miss him and he manages to stay in bounds at the same time as eluding the defenders angle.

He gets completely blown up by Burfict on the next play where the Bengals didn't look ready to start the play. Illegal formation was called on the Ravens but declined by the Bengals.

West who had a good run on an earlier drive loses yardage on the 3rd and 3 to go.

I like what I see from Dixon.

Hill on the other hand is having a tough day.

3 field goals of 50+ in the 1st half.  Every one of them cleared by 10 yds.  And he's kicking outdoors.  I think he's up to 32 straight FGs.  Really is remarkable.
Was a reason why I carried him through his bye, which I never do with kickers. The guy is simply on a tear this year and is the epitome of dependability.

LaFell takes a handoff left for 3 yards

Hill split left, Dalton rolls right and misses a well-covered WR down the right sideline

3rd and 7, Dalton throws to Wright on the left sideline but sails a little over his head even though Wright seemed to be in a position to catch that ball.

Punt.

BAL makes a first down after a rumbling run and a short pass.

Dixon stood up on 1st and 10

2nd and six from the 25,Wallace comes all the way acrpss the formation from right to left and catches in the flat unguarded for a first down.

Another 1st and 10 at the 44. Fake handoff, Flacco leaks right out of the pocket and is chased out of bounds given good downfield coverage.

2nd and 7, Dixon runs right and is stood up past the edge for a gain of 2

3rd and 5, single back split left. short pass to the Pitta on the right that was nearly a pick 6.

Punt,

Dalton with a pass to Hill in the right flat for a gain up the sideline for a first.

1st down handoff to Hill up the gut for 2 yards.

2nd and 8 on the CIN 26. Single back split left, Dalton uses time in the pocket to finally check down to HIll for a nice pass for 11st down.

1st and 10 at the 50, Dalton scrambles right after pocket collapses, is hit by Suggs as he throws, incomplete.

2nd and 20, single back split right, hits Eiftert up the middle for a nice pass and run for a first down.

1st and 10 at the BAL 35, a quick check down dump over the middle for Hill for 3 yards/

2nd and 7, same formation, tries a quick swing screen pass to the right to Boyd that Dalton leads too far, incomplete.

3rd and 7, Dalton wiht a nice throw to Boyd moving across to the left down to the 101.

1st and goal, Dalton steps up in the pocket and running free upfield, throws through the end zone with his 3 receivers covered well.

2nd and goal -- same split back, completes a quick in/flag for about 4 yards.

BAL TO

3rd and goal from the 3. Dalton with great protection, bides time to find Eifert crossing left to right at the back of the end zone, outleaps the LB in coverage for a TD.

Good pass protection for Dalton who rolls to his right and allows Eifert to come across the back of the end zone for a TD.

Then the kicker misses the extra point. Keeping Baltimore ahead by 7 points.

BAL returns to the 25.

1st and 10 - West with a solid zig-zagging run right for 6, but slow to get up and off ot he sidelines.

2nd and 4 -- with line pulling right, Flacco with a dump to the left to his fullback for a solid first down gain.

1st and 10, Dixon picks up 3

2nd and 6 at th3 50, Flacco drops back and delivers a strike over the middle at the sticks.

1st and 10. Dixon the lone back in the I, takes if up the middle for 3.

2nd and 7 - Dixon split wide right, moves back to the formation to the backfield, runs left into the arms of a defender in the backfield, nice spin to start moving left but caught again behind the LOS.

TO

3rd and 9 at the BAL 42, Flacco to Waller or Boyle (sorry, didn't catch the number) with a middle range route short of the first down.

ETA: Maybe that was Steve Smith.

Steve Smith gets the ball on 3rd and 9 but Smith comes up short of the 1st down.

The Ravens go for it on 4th and 1 with a toss play to Dixon who gets the 1st down. There was some reverse motion before the toss to fool the defense.

4th and 1, BAL goes for it, Dixon takes a pitch left to pick up the first.

1st and 10, West takes the handoff with a sneaky run hiding behind his blocks and picking up 8.

2nd and 2, single back formation. Handoff again to West who tries to move left but is cut down behind the LOS for a loss of 2.

3rd and 4, same formation, West moves left to right pre snap to take a quick post pass for 3 yards.

4th and 1, Tucker on for the FG for 36 yards-- remains perfect.

19-9 BAL

After returning kickoff to the 25, then moved back to the 9 on a holding call, BAL opens up their series out of the I, running West between tackles on the left side for no gain.

Same I on 2nd down, Flacco fakes the handoff and tries to throw to Juszczyk releasing downfield, but overthrows him wiht the FB not even looking for the pass.

3rd down, Flacco hits Pitta who makes the catch but is hit hard with the ball jarring lose.

Punt.

CIN down by a TD with just over 4 mins to go.

1st and 10 -- nice handoff to Burkhead for a first down. He gets it again for another 4 yard carry.

2nd and 6 from the 40, handoff ot Burkhead split left who takes it right and around BALs edge for the first down.

Kid looking good.

1st down, Dalton with a short dumpoff to the right for Hill.

2nd and 2 from the 45. Dalton's pass batted down by Suggs back to Dalton, who bats it to the ground.

3rd and 2, Burkehead in pass pro. Hits Boyd on a quick in from the left side of the line for the first down.

Red Rifle has 4 of his passes batted down at the line. They still were able to extend the drive converting on 4th down but then Dalton gets strip sacked by Dumervil and the ball is recovered by the Ravens.

Nice last play of the game there.
NFL needs to revisit the game ending/not ending on a penalty, especially when you have 9 intentional penalties on the play and possession is going to turn over on downs. That looked led more like the end of Slapshot than an actual football play.

Not sure what you could do about the rules there - maybe give the other team an option for one untimed down? Would have at least forced Baltimore to make the safety free kick like they had to at the end of the Super Bowl vs. SF.

Suggs is playing inspired football. Best he's been in years. He's a borderline Hall of Famer in my opinion, maybe a strong finish gets him over the line.

Just want to say that yesterday's CBS broadcast was noticeably excellent. They were a little slow on the uptake on the final play, but were otherwise excellent. They were all over Tucker early on and he turned out to be the story of the game. Great stuff on the repeated batted Dalton passes at the end, and classic video of the Burfict flop. Just a really well done job all the way around - far too rare nowadays.

Same thing happened with much less notice in the NO @ SF game a few weeks back. Happened before the end of the first half in a blowout, so not much attention on it.

Count on it -- such tactics will be explicitly illegal in 2017. Offenses will get to replay the down with time placed back on the clock ... probably with 15 yards tacked on, too.
