***Cincinnati at Kansas City*** (-7) 54.5u Burrow and Crew do the unthinkable...THEY WIN!!! (1 Viewer)

I loved that Burrow gave him a little Icky Shuffle when they met up on the field.

Icky was my very first draft choice my first year playing FF.  He was coming off a monster rookie year.  Blew his knee out in I think the second game of the season.   I should have quit FF then.

As a Bengals fan, this was a tough game to watch. So frustrating, and it feels like we just didn't belong here on the same stage with Mahomes. But with Burrow and all our weapons, I hope and believe we have a very bright future. Hang on, producer saying something in my earpiece ...

GO BENGALS!!! YES YES YES YES!!

I'm old, I root for all Ohio teams but I still remember the first two times my Bengals went to the Superbowl and lost to the 49ers.  Honest to God, if SF wins and we lose again, I swear to God, I'll be that guy in the corner of the bar, nursing a beer, rocking back and forth, mumbling "not the 49ers, not the 49ers, 49ers, 49ers"!  :)

I was in my 2nd year of college for the 2nd Superbowl, watching the game by myself on a little 13th TV at UC. . . I kicked that TV when Billups dropped that Montana ball. . . I knew Joe wouldn't give us a 2nd chance like that.

GO BENGALS!!!

Tale of two halves. They stayed focused and o-line did just enough for Burrow to do his thing. Congrats. Enjoy the Big Game.

Stop.

No shtick, I picked the Bengals to win the Super Bowl as the tiebreaker for a playoff fantasy league - because I thought they could ride Burrow, and he showed that he, and the entire team belonged on the field today, and in two weeks in the Super Bowl.

There was play in the third quarter, I think where it looked like the Chiefs had a pick on the sidelines.  They should have challenged the incompletion call IMHO.

It wasn't close. Ball was easily out before possession.

Well damn, I cut this game off at halftime. Thought the chiefs clearly had it and took a nap.

That's what I get.

That could have been a fumble - not sure the RB was tackled, he got up and dropped the ball.  Think that’s what Andy was arguing.
I noticed that in real time but they must have ruled whistle was blown or he gave himself up. Having a turnover happen there would have rivaled the Bills loss last week

The goaline defense by the Bengals at the end of both halves was tremendous. Especially because KC always seems to score in those situations. With Kelce, Hill and Mahomes, they have so many ways the stress a goaline defense. Maybe it’s a quick in the Hill, maybe it’s an out route to Kelce, maybe Mahomes boots to the outside, maybe it’s a little inside flick to a RB/FB. But the Bengals shut them down totally at the end of the 2nd and held them to the FG at the end of the 4th. That was absolutely huge.

Hill isn’t a red zone guy. Reid as a HC and play caller chokes in pressure situations. Bengals knew it and took away the predictability

Great, two weeks of idiots mispronouncing BENGALS

Guys, Susanna Hoffs is not going to the Super Bowl.

I still can’t believe how small Mahomes came up at the end. The scrambles backwards and pick were terrible
He’a gotten away with it so many times though too. I mean, that TD to Kelce against the Bills where he was running with his back to the endzone and then just spun and chucked it up was a really dumb play that worked out really really well for him. The Bengals just happened to be very good at making him pay for his stupid reckless plays today and they are going to the Super Bowl because of it.

I thought Bengals' pass coverage in the last third of the game was top shelf. So many times Mahomes was running around with nowhere to throw. He turned a couple into loss saving runs, but any open receiver downfield could have been a game changer.

Go Bengals!!   Go Rams (my one true team since childhood)!!  Fun couple of weeks coming.

Mahomes is good, not great. He's error-prone, and it showed today.

its a bad game plan, awesome defensive game plan by the opposition, and poor execution by Mahomes.

their run is over 4 years is about the axtent of it, ask the Eagles under Reid.

The KC Eagles have had their time in the sun.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Ministry had a death in the family yesterday and the entire arc of Championship Sunday took on a different light than the one I was anticipating. I was entertaining family that needed comfort, my sister-in-law lost her mom to Alzheimer's and believe me when I tell you I was so happy the woman is not suffering any longer but I had to jump from the comforts of my couch and be a comforting soul to others.

I did get to watch bits and pieces of the game, I don't remember changing the thread title but...yeah that looks like my work. Luckily I DVR'd both games yesterday and want to re-watch them.

MoP to the Sharks: In my 47 years I've never seen Divisional and Championship Playoffs go down to the wire like this.

CIN 19...TEN 16  SF 13...GB 10  LA 30...TB 27  KC 42...BUF 36

CIN 24...KC 21  LA 20...SF 17

6 Incredible football games decided by 6 points or less, most by a late FG, The KC-BUF was by far the best but we still got hours and hours of entertaining football. The '84 Bears were pretty darn good, got beat 23-0 in the NFCC, I'm simply saying that when I grew up these Playoff games were pretty lopsided many times.

My wife is a very casual football fan who only watches some post season games. After watching the Buffalo/Chiefs game and the first half of yesterday’s Bengals game she legit asked if the NFL is fake like pro wrestling after Mahomes somehow turned into Mitch Trubisky for 30 minutes.

Bengals went all out on pass coverage - Chiefs had the time to punish them with the run, and chose not to do so. They were picking up good yards when they did...you gotta figure if a team is dropping 8 men into coverage there's going to be some running lanes...

Yep, the Chiefs arrogance did them in, as they want to their way (passing and making highlight reel plays) more than anything.  Schlereth pointed it out today; he said the Bengals were basically daring the Chiefs to run it down their throats and the Chiefs just kept throwing.  KC's arrogance buried them in the Super Bowl last year when they thought they could run their offense as is without two of their best o-linemen, and it buried them again yesterday.  Mahomes' play at the end of the first half just reeked of arrogance.

Not running enough and terrible end of half management — we saw the Eagles version of Reid resurface.
