I'm guessing the clan could be set up to be private. Ours says it is open is why we see people jump in and out, until we fill up at least.

Sorta....they can clean out the percentage they are shown. If you have 700 gold and you are attacked, you can't lose 700 gold. I don't know how it's exactly calculated, but it seems to be like 10%.

When you progress further it's important to clear your mines before shield expires since you should have them outside of your walls or at least only one layer within. All gold and elix storage units should be further inside.

I don't think so. They can only take a certain %. And if they destroy your TH or 50% of your buildings you get a shield.

 
I agree about putting a password on the clan if it's still possible.

I'm finding watching some of the youtube videos for the single player goblin campaign to be really helpful in learning how to diagnose a base and figure out how to attack it.

Though, I know that isn't multiplayer yet either, heh. 1d7h left on first game's shield, 2d left on the other. Might spend awhile today figuring out how I want to lay out my base. If anyone has any good designs with images online, let me know.

if you have a iphone theres a app called clash of clans free gems or something, it has a buncha videos for ever single player map, also shows you defensive builds per every TH level, pretty good free app

 
There is a forum for CoC with a lot of good info for newer players.

Info as of last Apr (may have changed)

If attacked you lose most of what is in your mines and collectors, so you are rewarded for logging in to clear them.

You lose a percentage of what is in your storage. The percentage is based on your townhall level. They did this so high level players would not drop down and raid newbs all the time.

This was a big problem last spring and they were fiddling with it a lot. Not sure where that problem stands now. Looks like they added rewards to encourage fighting at your own level.

 
lost a bit of gold during the night, got attacked at like 5:30 am or something - so all my collectors had the resources collecting through the night. attackers didnt get near the storage, but made off with a good haul from the collectors.

 
You will find that you will probably get attacked every night. I always do.

I think they get 50% of what is in your collectors and 20% of what is in your storage.

Also that percentage drops if you are being attacked by someone with a bigger town hall than you.

For instance I currently have 1.9 million in gold stored up. Someone might completely destroy everything I have, but they are unlikely to get more than a couple hundred thousand. And because all my defenses are maxed out, anyone on the same level as me has no chance of getting all my gold. They aren't powerful enough.

Great tip for attacking for gold:

If you notice a city has no coins in storage, then all their gold is in the collectors. Usually those are on the outside of the city. You can at times get lots if gold just by attacking 4-5 collectors and only using a small portion of your army.

 
Ok, so.I was attacked and dismantled the poor guy. He has nothing worth the revenge. Is there a time limit to get revenge

Revenge is available for 9 days, I think. I just looked at my log and I don't have any defenses over 6 days but the revenges are all still available.

 
One more. Sorry. if there is a place to find all this, please link me.

So I have a shield for 6 days 23 hours. Is that from being attacked. And if I revenge him, does the shield go away.

I can do some serious leveling with a 6 day shield

Apparently my sweet 6 year old, bought me a 7 day shield.

Super. Looks like I'm borrowing 20 bucks from her to buy more gems

:lmao: My 4 year old keeps wanting to play this on my phone. I keep telling her that if she touches it she's losing her Kindle for a while.

I just came out of protection about 1.5 hours ago. 2 successful attacks, 1 failed one and 2 successful defenses. I pretty well mauled both guys that attacked me. The one guy had to have wasted 2500-3000 elixer attacking me and got 25 gold and 50 elixer in return.

My loss was a total strategic failure on my part. I didn't even really want to fight him but it seemed to not give me an option to find someone else. Not sure if I hit a button on accident or what. Guy had no walls at all though but I stupidly sent my giants after his mortar in the middle instead of just sending them after one of his outside cannons and then using archers to pick off the gold. His two cannons lit into my giants and I couldn't get my archers to spawn in an area where they would attack the cannons. Epic fail.

 
Do we need a new clan or can a password be added?

I kicked out that trash talking kid but i don't think i can add a password since I didn't initiate the clan

 
If we can't add a password then I vote new clan.

For the record, people who show up, ask for troops, then take off are perfectly fine by me - I still get the XP for the donation. I just don't need trash talk from a 10 year old who learned a new cuss word.

 
Not sure if you can do a password, but you can make it private so people have to request access. The clan leader or any clan elders can accept or reject the request. If you guys are in a clan and don't have an active clan leader right now to make the FBGs elders, start a new one. Clan leader and elders can also boot people.

I sorta messed up my post earlier. Attackers definitely get more from the collectors than storage...I didn't make that clear earlier even though I said to clear your collectors as much as possible.

Regarding your last sentence....how do you know there is little coin or elix in storage? Just based on the coins inside the storage case or if the elix looks low? I saw some talk about this in my clan and they were saying there is something to the side of the storage, but I don't see anything. Maybe it's an ipad feature or I have no idea what they were talking about?

If you are doing a Revenge you can actually visit the base beforehand and see the levels of all the defense and see how much is in each collector. As you attack more you will be able to estimate a little more accurately what percentage of the elixir and gold is in the collectors by how full they look. If they look empty, then there is more in the collectors.

 
I haven't once been able to do a revenge attack, the person is either online or under shield. Not that I really care about revenge in this game - there's plenty to raid and If I get raided myself, so be it.

New clan. fbgs.

But you can't password protect. I could only make it invite only. So I need Clash of Clans names to invite to.

 
I was able to request to join, and put my FBG username in the request to verify identity. There are 2 "fbgs" clans though, the other is open to anyone, I requested for the invite only one.

If you request invite in the game, apparently any of us can then let you in.

Also, saw they had a Clash of Clans commercial in the Super Bowl pregame.

 
Ok, apparently only the first couple of people in the clan can approve others or something, won't let me let you guys in.

For more gems, you can complete Achievements too, click on the woman's face top left for the list.
