Just seems like even 15k bases are so rare. I mainly see bases in the 1-5k range and may have to search 30 times for a 10k one, so I'm essentially forced to raid 5k bases. Maybe I just need to hold out longer
I woke up this morning to 570 trophies, and have been raiding for 30 minutes and have cleared 450k gold. Thinking this may be my sweet spot

that may just be your sweet spot. stay there! I didn't do sub200 until th7 so im not positive of what you would see at that lvl. maybe its more of a th7 thing

I didn't do sub200 until TH7 either, though considering most of the bases I hit then were TH5 and TH6 bases, I'd think you would find even more gold than we did.
Some days and times of day seem far better than others. I generally found weekday afternoons to be some of the worst times to play, weekends the best, and later in the evening on weekdays decent.

There really may not be time to do it 3x a week. Each one lasts 48 hours. So it would be quite the balancing act to make each one have a 12 hour cool down to squeeze in 3 a week. You might have to have a 3rd clan to actually make this work.
Matchmake FBG1 - Sunday 8pm
*New*FBG3 - Wednesday 8am - The "NoDE" clan.
FBG2- Friday 8pm
Otherwise there's too much pressure to always be jumping around.

We would also still need to change the current timing. Right now there is a 1.5 day gap between each war ending and the next war starting, not enough to fit another war in.

I'm not sure we need to change anything. Each clan could continue to have one "for real" war per week.
For FBG1, when war ends Tuesday evening, the button could be hit again Wednesday AM, then again Friday afternoon.
FBG2, if they desired, could maintain the Thursday morning matchmaking, and hit the button again Saturday afternoon and again Monday evening.
In both cases, the serious war is maintained and the two additonal are practice. For those wanting desperately to join in both 'serious' wars, they would have to make sure they moved during the open windows. I think that most of us that bounce between might be stationary if there were additional wars, making coordination moot.

Yeah forgot if we do a 3rd clan it leaves someone to have to be stuck in it. No idea how to handle it. I'm just in it for the gems. If I can get the 300 from the wars and then push to crystal I save myself 5 bucks which I can waste on something really frivolous and feel better about myself, or save it and in 50 years it will be worth at least 6 dollars (after inflation).

Let's put this another way. Keep the status quo. Keep the current war schedule for both clans.
FBG1 additionally, hits the war button Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon. These are practice, free money, however you want to view it, but there is no expectation of DE donations.
What is the downside?
Does it diminish the excitement having them too often?

I'm finding Bronze I/Silver III to be the best loot range for me at TH6. My experience at sub200 was similar to yours.Dickies said:

Yep, in the 450-600 trophy range there are loads of bases in the 50-100k range that can be raided for a handful of archers and goblins. There is some rebuild wait time, but I can raid a few smaller bases in the 10-15k range and build troops faster than I deplete. agree with this. when i did my 1500 trophy run it was hard to fill the coffers up at the higher levels. now in this range every other raid nets 150+ resources (gold and elixir). my formula has been use archers to hit extractors outside of walls if the storage looks empty for anywhere from 40 - 80k for each resource. this takes roughly 30 archers (3*), which I queue up before starting the farm run so that by the time i am done with this i go again almost immediately. i commit the full army if the resources are 100k+/100k+ with full storage in the middle of the base. takes 15 - 20minutes to recook the army at that point. all barch with 6 wbs.

Here are my druthers...
We seem to have about 20-25 people whose desire for a 2nd war has been enough that they frequently switch clans. The other 50+ people stay put even when we post that we're short on people, and we seldom have a full 50 for a war.
Going with 3 wars a week in both clans seems overkill when 2/3 of the people haven't shown a desire to be in 2 wars a week, let alone 3.
Also, I'd suggest if we're doing 3 wars in any clan, I'd say do 3 real wars instead of "one real the other two don't matter" thing. Speaking for myself anyway, it's going to frustrate me to do a war where a lot of people aren't participating. I'd rather not do a war, than do one where a lot of our team don't participate.
So maybe better to set up a new clan that is devoted to 3 real wars a week? Then anyone present in it made a conscious choice to move there for the war. Let the existing clans stick with 1 war a week for now, if anyone wants more they can jump to FBG:EndlessWar . Depending on how numbers play out, we can decide later if it makes sense to merge FBG1 and FBG2, or have 2 war clans, or whatever.

I like that. I like the wars OK. While I wouldn't mind doing 2 a week, I certainly don't want to be on the hook to switch clans every Wednesday or what not. If there's a clan dedicated to 1 per week, I'll make the one time switch to that. Seems like the hardcore people who want 3 per week don't mind doing the clan jumping either (well, probably don't like it, but they're more likely to actually do it).

Greg the voice of reason. This clan I joined is going to war on Friday with 15. From what they have told me every war they have been involved with has been close and down to the wire. If that proves to be the case maybe a third clan with a smaller number would scratch the competitive itch some of us are experiencing? It would only stand to reason given some of the large clans we've encountered. I would venture to say there are maybe a handful of well organized clans of our size out there. I would guess the more predominant clans are smaller groups (folks you work with, neighbors, church group, whatever).
A third, smaller clan would almost have to be more competitive than what we've been running up against with the larger clans. I'll let you know what I experience but I know some of the guys posting here have been in other clans, what's your experience been?

- I'm fine with one war a week. I would do two, but I really don't like the idea of casual wars. I want to win, dammit!
- I also think that the wars will get more competitive over time. We're getting stronger and you almost have to get more engaged people involved as you go up. We have a lot of TH6s-TH8s pushing up right now.

I think the war competition will slowly start to become more competitve. I figure since clan wars is still a bit new - all of the crap clans are participating. Ecentually those crap clans will breakup or rebuild into more comprtitve ones. We are a bit ahead of schedule. Something we can also try is to match fbg1 vs fbg2 by declaring at the same time with the same member count

I recently hit TH8 and all of the sudden, it's hard. I have to hit "Next" for soooo long to find a base with decent loot, and sometimes they are way too hard. It's like I forgot how to play. My main problem with TH7 was having too much loot and not enough builders, suddenly I'm struggling to make ends meet.
I've been playing in the 1100-1250 range.

im th8 and in the same range im actually finding a lot of gold around here, but not much DE. when I was th8 and sub200 there was tons of DE and elixir but not enough gold. im assuming if you climb around 1500 trophies you will find a lot of loot but the bases will be tougher

Right now you ignore the battle button Wednesday through Sunday. There's absolutely no change being pushed on anyone -- you could continue to ignore that button and the game will be exactly the same for you. For those that want additional practice (or loot, or a quicker route to the gems), they would not be denied the option.
I don't see why that should frustrate anyone -- but if it does, the majority can continue clan jumping as long as there is room to do so.

FBG1 vs FBG2 would be a lot of fun, if we could ever manage matching!
I am not optimisitic that it will become more competitive. The evidence suggests that clans at our level are viewing wars as opportunity for loot, and that it will get worse. Most clans do not have the organization that we have.
My hunch is that it will only get competitive as we rise to the crystal leagues and up.

What's new in this update:
War Base layout and War Base Edit Mode!
✔ Been wanting to keep a separate layout for your War Base? Now you can!
✔ Your War Base layout now has a life of its own and will persist from war to war without the need to touch your regular village.
✔ War Base Edit Mode is available on the Clan War map during preparation day only. Layouts are still locked during battle day.
✔ Upgrades in your village are still automatically applied to your War Base, but remember to place any new buildings into your War Base layout!
✔ Even if you're upgrading your Inferno Tower or X-Bow in your village, you can toggle between different modes in your War Base.
Clan Wars stats improvements!
✔ All new War Stats tab shows lots of new cool war statistics. Find it under the blue star button after battle day begins.
✔ Most heroic victory and most heroic defense replays for each team are featured in the War Stats!

I like the war system we have going now. If you make the effort, you can have two wars. If not, you've got one. If you really want, you can have none.
But I like our effort, I'd hate to lose that. I think our shock and awe tactics just causes the other team to quit. We can probably start holding off on second attacks until later, because once a team is down so much, it is difficult to rally back. Especially without organization... it quickly becomes a classic prisoner's dilemma for the other clan (why should I spend extra resources to get a shot at winning the war bonuses with no guarantee that my clanmate also will do so?)
