Truthfully, we just need a couple of bodies so that everyone currently in FBG2 can get in the war.

Thanks for the heads up, I should be able to handle it. I've still got the coleader bit, didn't join the FBG2 war this time as I have a deadline for FBG content I don't want to be distracted from. Speaking of which, probably not around much until Saturday other than to empty collectors.

Yes, I'm a fan of the shuriken. Most wars no one even attacks our bases so they must look imposing. Last war I got attacked once... by a TH10 who did a golem/peeka/wizard attack, and shut him down at 1 star. I have been 3-starred by a TH10's attack with 36 lev 5 hogs in a regular raid, which I'd expect no matter what we did. But I was actually decently happy with how much of his force the base took out. I have a few changes since that I am trying at war time waiting for a hog attack to see if they help. I'm moving two big bombs together and upgrading my big bombs since two together can wipe out an entire group of hogs before they can be healed. Also moving a few traps into my 2nd layer of defense, as the hog attack I faced, he got too much of my inner defenses before hogs went back out to the outer ring to hit more traps.

One of the reasons I chose Shuriken over it was I didn't like having storages as exposed as they were in that one, so close to the gaps in the non-closed outer wall. Also the one air defense off where it's easy to attack I didn't care for over something symmetrical.
Though now that I look at it a second time... I might be able to do some redesign work, stick with his basic features that make it a good anti-hog base and overcome the parts I don't like. When I have more time I may mess around with a copy on one of the base editor websites and see what I end up with.

I found they do heavy damage, but do die really fast. I had them a couple wars ago when I was a TH5 and I feel like I wasted them. Probably just require practice.

I didn't use them much until they were level 2, but I found they were pretty powerful.
They work best in large groups though so they take down the building fast and move on. Of course, that also makes them vulnerable to traps. Level 1 I'd probably do 3 groups of 9-10 probably.
Also, be ready with your heal spell when they approach wizard towers, particularly higher level ones. Since they group up, you add together a few hits from the wiz and maybe a mortar hit and that can take them down quick.

Clan I joined, I'm the #1, oof. Good news we started a war this morning with I.R.A.N. and I'm gonna Rick roll the #### out of their 1 & 2. Only 15 guys in the clan so I'll be interested to see how it turns out. I have the highest level troops with lvl4 wizards & archers so we are stocking all the war cc's with them since only one guy in the clan has a cc that can hold a dragon.

This will be my third war using them. I'm getting better at it. I messed around with balloonion in last weeks FBG2 war when things were already decided. In the first attack I dominated, in the second I neglected the clan troops completely and was decimated by archers.EYLive said:

I need more practice with balloons and there's no better place for testing strategy than the clan wars (or revenge, which isn't guaranteed to be available). That's one reason why I asked that we implement more wars (practice) for those that want to test new approaches.
I will be making plenty of level 5 balloons for the war, so if anyone is interested, just request.

I'm thinking about redesigning the whole thing so all of the storages are outside the walls. They have a ton of HP and should slow down attackers much more effectively than mines. At the minimum, I think I should put a storage near every AA to give dragons something tough to work through while my AA has a chance to shoot them up.

I'm curious if I could jump over and stock some of your war CCs with valks, without having been in the war when it was declared.
If you want me to try, post the clan name and I'll give it a try when I get a chance.

Sent you an IM Greg. They aren't nearly as active as we are and I don't have the ability to let you in so it might be a bit. You can try to donate a wiz and if it fails then you have your answer. Would be cool if you could pull that off but I gotta think Supercell would be on to something like that.

The only ones that I have trouble with are TH8 that put all their AA close together and can take out dragons that come up one at a time before they even get to the AA. I pack my AA together now on TH7 but have not seen an all out dragon attack.
No, at TH 7 the goal is just to limit a dragon rush to 2 stars instead of 3. With max AA and some clever building placement, I think you can do that if the dragon rusher isn't very good. Pretty much all you can hope for.
