Manback, I would drop a golem at 10 and one at 2, backed by 3 wiz each and a few wbs to break in. Then once they clear out the defenses there, drop 2 golems and remaining army with heroes at noon. Wall break in and then jump to core. Use 4-6 witches, rest wiz. Jump spell, 2 freeze, rage, and a heal or another rage.

I know the landscape has changed some with the addition of the hair dryer but it's fairly simple to take that into account and attack around it unless it is a really well laid out base. I encourage you to give it a try, if not in war than try a practice run and see how it works. It's about as automatic as a GoWiXX for 2 stars and most often 3.

4 golems. Drop one at 10 and one at 2 for initial drop, backed by 3 wiz on each one. Then drop 2 remaining golem and rest of army at noon.The key is killing that cannon and archer tower at 10 and 2 to break the defense chain. Then dropping everything else at noon will funnel to core.

I know I should know this, and I check first page, but what is cold blooded and shattered again. I can't seem to get these two through my thick skull. That and asking while sober might help retention.

I've sort of skimmed through most of the strategy that's been posted in here because it doesn't hold up at the developed Th10 level at all, where I've been hitting for a few months. Outside of a few miracle attacks with huge heroes 3 stars just doesn't happen. 2 stars is the new 3.

Aah had better heroes. They didn't have near this many max th9 bases.

Not sure which is harder.

I don't think you can execute those gowiwi 3 stars with low heroes. Will be interesting.

 
Just an observation while raiding recently and in the last few wars. Have been seeing a base design pop up a lot, like out of 10 nexts it can be 4-5 of the bases I skim over. The original was dubbed the Popular Chinese Base or PCB and the tell tale sign for me is the cross in the middle of the base. What I've seen a lot of recently is what I would consider variants of the original. They either widen the cross out or redesign the interior some but it's essentially the same layout.

I point it out only for base recognition purposes. I've seen this base a lot lately, more than any other base design at my TH9 level. I raid predominately in silver & gold. Noticed it a few times in the last few wars as well.

Reddit calls this base "box base" FYI. Because I guess it looks like boxes?

See variants of the 2nd one a lot. I avoid it raiding (barch) but for war, they are usually pretty hoggy as a BB is in each corner.

 
Yeah this begs an interesting question.

Would you rather face a clan with

  • 35 bases with TH9 max defenses and decent layouts with only 15 queens above level 20 and 5 above level 30 (roughly these guys, but sue me I haven't counted every last one, lets keep this generic)
  • 25 bases with TH9 max defenses and decent layouts with 30 queens above level 20 and among those 10 above level 30.
First clan would lower your total stars you'd expect to get, but second clan would raise what you would have to get to cover their offense.

Fwiw I tend to agree that people likely make the jump to th10 too early. 20/20 is a great benchmark. Farming at th9 has been set to easy mode since the update prior to this one.

Quattro is engaged right now. Next time there's a window I'm sure a few will come over to try out Honda.

We've got (barely) 15 going right now. 15 v 15 isn't bad. I would like to try a big war again though.

Thanks for making room fbgs and Honda. I'll be moving out somewhere once my schedule frees up and I can war again. Otherwise I'd just be taking up a spot :banned:

 
For the guys who got into this after the last boost, pro tip

Boost all collectors until Aug 6th. Upgrade any collectors that arent maxed on the 6th cancelling the upgrade. Cancel the upgrade and start boost again for another week. Get two weeks instead of one

If your collectors are maxed, sorry, you only get one week

You don't get this kind of knowledge in the "I :wub: T Swizzle" clan

 
remember this can be a huge boon for de farming. de drills fill up faster than the other ones relatively. and there are just 2 or 3 of them.

It's important during boost to be able to identify where the DE is. Or just hit next till you see a monster and then just take it all. But even barching for massive DE is possible during this time if you take note of the drills. You can easily barch 2400DE a shot.

I really think 45 is a no-go. Not sure how we manage it, but in three wars. One severe overmatch and one severe undermatch and a farm war. I think something is special about the 45 number It seems to break the algorithm.

Maybe it's just selective memory but at 40 we seem to get roughly

-15% overmatch we have no hope

-25% undermatch we just blow them out

-15% farm

-45% fair match win most of them

Maybe it's our mix that draws it, not sure.

lol, champs fever has caught on. even ron made the push and when he got there he couldn't even fit the gems in his gem stockpile.

This might be a modded attack, but still, worth checking out the thought process here.

  • Sending a 2 golem standard ks into a deep queen/cc.
  • Now, like we've seen SMN do (mainly because his heroes are no lock to get 2 AA) before he sends hogs in to target a 3rd AA and several other defenses under two heals.
  • This is interesting because he heals the hogs and tries to catch some of the ks such that they stick around for cleanup.
  • Backside laloon on the last AA.
What's new and why this warrants a little testing. Our primary issue is that deep queens shut down our weak heroes. If you can leverage the kill squad a little more and lean less on the air or hog component you might find some bases with queens dead center that our th9 can get. I had shuke in a war where there was about 20 th9. 18 of 20 the th9 had a 10x10 box surrounded by walls with AQ+CC+BK+XBOW. They got a total of 4 3 stars. (Shuke got 2 of them :flex:) This 10x10 core setup is getting to be the default base for the universe. Need to adjust or die trying.

Here's a semi-interesting data set. Took the weights today vs this pinoy clan and compared to the weights we were in may at the time we faced the tokyo clan (which was to that point the most insane mismatch we'd ever had).

A few comments

  • Both of these overmatches had something in common both had roughly 6 more built out TH10 and 6 more built out TH9.
  • Our weight now roughly equals tokyo in May, however new dark spells make this not apples/apples plus they re-weighted walls/heroes since then
  • If you take the avg/stdev delta this matchup was actually worse than tokyo by a good bit. (taking out the yoga effect, obviously) giving up about 800ww more to this clan than tokyo

It's hard to say with certainty, but in chat Culd congratulated AZ on making champs and the gems. AZ replied "I couldn't collect them yet...it says I'm full". (or something like that).

If AZ was joking, he didn't let on that he was. Only he would know!
