Sorry for all the fbgs problems...Honda maxed but we have a couple of potential dropoffs...talk to pigskin/uhm/jester.

I've come to this conclusion that it's not worth raiding while under a shield. Shields are way too valuable to break.

If I find my self with an army and unshielded I'll raid. Otherwise I'll hide.

If anyone cares should have a few people on twitch tomorrow. I may hit early Sunday and then right at the end. Still working out the schedule.

My experience has not been the same in M1 and now Champs3. I use a farm base I stole from smn. AQ walk based army nets DE and a couple attacks under shield. I then lose 400DE and 200DE reloading IT and then repeat. I am holding 140k DE, so, offering plenty.

Yeah... no idea how it would look for a TH10. Or even a max TH9 I guess. But I was farming in this league before the update hit, and it's been consistently better for me post-update. I keep track of how I'm doing and it went from ~7k DE an hour to something more like 10-11k.

I dropped down to silver 1 with my TH10 the past few days and I have to admit things are going much better. I'm net profit 3.5 million elixir the past 2 days, saved enough gold for a max tesla upgrade and probably up 20k DE. All of this using only gibarch with goblins. If you were a casual TH9 or TH10 player who was used to getting in a raid or two only as your shield was expiring pre-update then silver may be the place for you. Lots of dead bases and people who have given up here with plenty of exposed TH's. You're not going to get much for a snipe here (enough gold to offset nexting cost plus a little profit) but you should find a full collector base about once every fifteen minutes. If small profiting and inching your way forward isn't your cup of tea you'll still get ahead as everyone attacks with gibarch in silver and if your base is set up properly you should only lose half your lootable at most from a gibarch attack. So your collectors during a shield should more than offset your losses at least. If your issue is getting a 30% TH10 defense for a shield, feel free to try my base. I'm only losing half my lootable gold and elixir at most and have only had my DE storage go down once since the update. Also have only once had multiple storages get taken with less than 30% since the update. If you feel like you're ready to quit due to not being able to progress from the update you should at least give silver a try.

I dont agree with this at all. The game is now about maxing the in and out of resources during each shield cycle. Not including what you mine which is essentially a constant.

Lose less to get a shield. (Have good D)

Get more each time you attack (Get better on O)

Attack as much as possible while under shield.

My first attack I often get back more than I lost. Then the rest is gravy. Managing Elix is the only concern, using 300k per attack.

 
Counter point to dropping down:

With the 1 hour village guard at TH9, I can get in 3 GiBarch raids with full spells (boosting BK and spells) and not have to worry about staying online during that time. Zero dark spent (other than poison) and net 2500DE x 3 = 7500 in raid loot + a minimum of 3000DE in bonuses = 10500 minimum. Usually closer to 12-13000. That is with being down AQ right now.

ETA: should say that I lose 2500DE every single defense so the net for my evening session is around 10K.

Is this a maxxed TH10 your talking about? What trophy level are you in?

I've been chilling at masters 3. See max gowipes for #### loot here. Makes no sense. I can also go 12-24 hours without a shield so it's not like I'm just super casual. Yet.

Just sort of twiddling thumbs waiting on gem boost

If you click the "i" on the shield on the top middle of your screen, you see the time until your "break". 4 hours plus any shield you have. I missed the note on where they put this info.

 
Why would I possibly want to sit under a shield? Ludicrous.

It's all about maximizing your attacks. Boost it up. The one hour change has been the best part of this update.

 
I haven't put a barracks on boost in a year. Pretty much gem boost periods only. Up to this point simply didn't need to.

 
The game has been crashing a ton lately. Every time I try and attack it crashes.

Any initial thoughts from the early adopters about the benefits/wisdom/fun of going to TH 11? Have 4 days left on the build, wondering whether to let it run its course, or cancel it. Warden looks fun, but not sure much else to recommend it. Problematic for matchmaking?

Anyone regret doing it?

 
Watched SMN do this arrack and can't remember the comp. I think is 5 max lighting and a max quake to take out CC and queen. He then sends in hounds and loons. Anyone know how many of each?

Have a look at mine. Standard internet base that you've seen 100 times. Usually only lose 2 of each store. No way to protect DE at TH9.

Drop to a level where you're getting hit by gibarch. I'm losing max DE well under half the time right now. Losing 0% maybe 30-40% of the time. Only downside is the 0%s are usually with attacks that don't get 30% or a shield. That's in Silver I with 150k DE in storage.

Also, 2 Valks, 2 Skulls and a Wiz is a super CC vs gibarch.

You can watch my attacks on 21 and 12 from last war for examples. I look for opportunities to get the AQ/inferno and an AA if possible NOT AQ/CC.

From there it just depends on the base and if I know the cc contents. 21 had a hound so just sent in 5 hounds myself. I wasn't sure what 12 had but it did have 2 edge AA so was able to send in a little kill team for those and to get the cc. Ending up using 3 hounds there.

I GiBarch and always get the DE :shrug:

What I lose on defense is essentially the bonus from 2 attacks.

I'm a pretty much maxxed TH10... Today I got my first real attack since the update. I was in Masters1 at the update time, but then floated down since I don't really see much use in the League Bonuses anymore. I can get stuff too cheaply, too quickly. I've been learning to love the "No Shield" life, it's kinda fun. I can't say I put any value on shields as it currently stands... so it's strange to hear you say how much you like to ride them out.

My son's TH8 is a totally different story... he gets pounded continuously.

No regrets.Heros IMO need to be close to max before you push the TH11 button though.

Biggest difference is the Warden, specifically once you get him to Lv5. Using his ability/aura once in the core after your freeze spells wears off get you a few valuable additional seconds to take down TH.

I have had no problems finding loot - just dropped down to Masters and typically see 300/300/3k.

Also - don't plan on doing walls once you get to TH11 - will have plenty of other things/upgrades to do. Walls take a back seat once you get to Th11 - so make sure you comfortable with your wall levels before going to Th11

Edit to add - I raid every 1-2 hrs with full armies. Don't snipe or gibarch or anything like that. Taking down max TH10's in raids or war is much easier with the Warden IMO.

Edit to add pt2: the EAGLE defense to me seems much more devastating to air attacks vs ground attacks. Maybe cause skulls/hounds tend to clump? Dunno.

I was searching for best cc troops for clan war and found the fbg clash page, so I figure I'd ask for some opinions- forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place. Post poison update it seems drags and loons are the norm, since poison kills everything. For our next war I've put in a healer and 2 valks, figure the healer may heal them thru the poison spell and then heal heroes if it's still alive, but this may also be stupid. Any thoughts on alternatives to dragon?

Lavahounds are the probably the best CC troop now.

 
Lavahounds for th10 is the default. People generally stay away from hounds at th9 because it makes you weaker to air.

Th9 alot of people have just gone back to barch or random #### to force the poison spell use and to make luring harder.

Doesn't do you a lot of good against air attacks but aside from that sounds plausible

959k/1mil/5k base

barched it and got 540/825/3600

130k/130k bonus too

If you goto TH11 and can't do this, it's basically a big "screw-you" to the rest of the clan. Sure, you may not have anything else to upgrade, but, if you go this route and are not contributing stars at the top and are bringing TH11 against us in war, it's a big negative for the group. Everyone can do what they want, but, this is the net result.

Yep. We drew 6 TH11 this war and lost by 2. 2 of our 3 TH11 have lower heroes than a few of our TH9. We lost by 2...

 
Was surprised to see how many TH11's you guys drew in this matchup.

If my "war weight" is an issue please let me know and I'll go to another clan.

 
The th11s aren't really any harder to 2 than a max th10. Need a little better organization once again. Will try and throw something together and post it here later on that
