Clemens a Yankee (1 Viewer)

Clemens was at the game and just announced on the microphone to the Stadium from Steinbrenner's box that he's going to be a Yankee again.

Now the Yanks are contenders again in the East... though there is no way he's posting a 1.XX era in the AL East... I think low 3's is likely.. which is plenty good in that lineup.

 3.50 and 6IP every 5 days is about right.

he is on YES right now..

he will announce when he will be able to make his first start in the bottom of the inning

He thinks he can pitch in a month.

says that nobody (including Andy Pettite)

June First Yankees vs Boston.. Clemens on the mound.. mark it down

Just heard that. Also, just said that after he announces that, he will announce what he is having for dinner in the top of the 9th.

That was like a wrestling move. It would have been complete if he told whoever he was replacing on the roster to get the hell back to the minors.

Worth $20M for a half season of that?
That's 6 million in Detroit Tigers and 2.1 million in KC Royals dollars so I'll say yes.

why OMG?Was basically a foregone conclusion
The way the news came down was pretty dramatic...announcing it to the crowd during the game? Very cool.
I would have said pompous
Had he announced he was joining the Sox to the Fenway crowd, you wouldn't be saying that. And, it wasn't a foregone conclusion at all that he'd be in NY. Most folks thought the chances were just as good that he'd end up with Houston and some chance at going to Boston.

I wish he would retire already. I'm as sick of him as I am Barry Bonds. Now I have to go claim him in my AL only league. :o

#1 - With the Yankees pitching predicament, no way he would come to Boston over NY. Beyond the difference in wallet sizes#2 - I guess there was a chance with Houston, but again, this guy's ego precludes him coming to NY as a 'hero'

you wouldn't say that if he did it in Boston
ya I would have. Check my previous posts, no way did I want this guy in Boston
:banned: right. as a boston fan, I'm sure he's much better off for all of you in new york.

I don't want him neither. We've got Lester coming back and no room for a 45 year old pitcher who commands $20mil for half a season of work. We dumped Pedro and he was looking for far less. He's going to be good for New York no doubt but Boston is above that.
:X That's awesome.

Because he's a ####, that's why.Not enough Red Sox fans "get" this these days. #### Clemens. I'd rather lose than win with Clemens.

I realize it, just hoping that wasn't going to be your weak excuse.Glad your happier that a potential difference maker is with your main rival rather than your team, based off of stuff that happened 10 years ago with different management. :lmao:

I'm glad to see him going to NY. I'm not a Red Sox fan but at least it may add some spice back to a once great rivalry.
:lmao: I thought you were?
Link?
:topcat: :whoosh:  Now you know why I don't care for the Red Sux.

Loved that part too. Kills me how Boston fans think they're something other than the Yankees little spending brother.

I suppose it depends if you cheer for the uniform, or the players... I realize with the turnover these days the line gets more and more blurred, but there is still a definite distinction. Surprised you don't realize this. Same reason I wouldn't have wanted Bonds to come to Boston, regardless of him helping the team
