Clemens Scratched From Monday's Start (1 Viewer)

Interesting, that keeps his $$$ clock from starting to tick, and if he misses lets say a month, that's going to take that 18 millon prorated down to 14 or so.

didn't realize that NY/NJMFDIVER maybe the Yanks are trying to get back into this thing before they want to pay him

That was what I understood when they signed him, and why speculation was there that he wanted to pitch in Toronto, to get that clock rolling/tuneup for the Sox. Strange story that we'll find out more about. I doubt he would take it kindly if he knew they were holding him back to save a million or two, they were specific with the verbiage that he came to them, and knowing that he's about the money, I gotta think he would have gotten through a few innings monday, started the clock and then went on the DL to get paid. It tells me he has a lot of pride in his work and is concerned about his legacy, or he's hurt pretty badly, enough that he can't even get on the hill to try to through a few innings. Knowing him, I can't honestly say which way I'd lean, but if anything, I'm pretty sure its serious. Quite a few people will wear some egg for him not being on the hill monday.

Oh great...now we have to hear hourly updates on his groin injury. That will be almost as bad as the pitch by pitch updates of his minor league games. :hifive:

And at the slight indigintity of quoting myself, ESPN is reporting he'll miss 4 or 5 days and pitch next weekend against the Bucs at Yankee Stadium. Personally, I'll believe that when I see it. Buzz relayed from the Press Box by McCarver and Buck was a few weeks.

Suzyn Waldman "I'm at Roger's place and checking out his groin and from what I can tell he is doing just fine, back to you John"

He has a "fatigued groin" Tim McCarver said...

My groin was tired as hell after a long night last night, but I still pitched in my beer league softball game today, and I am not being paid quite as handsomely as the Rocket.

Yeah, McCarver was asking what exactly they meant by a "fatigued groin".

If don't know, maybe you should ask A-Rod!

Maybe this was set up from the start. Roger wanted to play for the Yankees and is doing this to drop the price for them. Just saying... if so, hopefully karma shows his face and the juicer is pitching for the Yankees to get to .500 in September.
