Cliff Lee (1 Viewer)

latest rotoworld

Cliff Lee (abdomen) threw 10 pitches off a mound Wednesday.Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu was impressed by the short workout and has mapped out a plan for the left-hander's return: Lee will throw 25 pitches in a bullpen session on Friday, a 40-pitch session soon after that, then he'll pitch in a simulated game on April 14. The 2008 AL Cy Young Award winner could be back in a Mariners uniform by late April or early May.

My people have nothing but good things to say about him

Pitching in a bigger ball park with better D is only going to help

pitching in the AL and for a far inferior offensive team. and on the DLim asking about his injury though. i heard it was the same injury he pitched through a few years ago when he sucked balls.

im asking about his injury though.
Oblique injuries and pitchers are never a good combo, I didn't watch him in Spring Training at all but I am curious if the oblique injury was due to an over correction post foot problem. I have him in one league and am not optimistic about it at all, I thought I went too pitcher heavy in the first 10 rounds with Lee, Hamels, and Nolasco but am now happy I did because I'm not counting on Lee for much. I hope he surprises me, but I'm planning on < 100 useful IP's. Anything more is a bonus.

currently taking my offer of B Phillips for Cliff Lee off the table

With apologies to my buddy Fin... Get Him Active!

Cliffy is DEALING! He looks as good as ever.
I just got back from that game. The whole thing. That was probably the most frustrating baseball game I've ever seen.Cliff Lee is good at throwing a baseball though.

Tell me about it. I had cash on the M's. They picked the worst possible pitch on which to squeeze.
Byrnes pulled the f'n bat back, Ichiro hesitated, and that was the difference between safe and out. Turns out Byrnes went straight to the locker room, put on a sweater and a beanie, and rode his bike out of the locker room, down the hall, straight past Z, and took off without talking to anyone. Weird. He's probably more pissed at himself than we are.Wak should have called for the squeeze an inning earlier with Wilson up instead of pinch hitting with Sweeney. Wilson is the only MLB SS on the roster right now - and Tui's throwing error set up the runs in the last inning. So much fail all the way around. Dammit all.
