Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts (1 Viewer)

Sharks knew this before the season started.
:goodposting: The whole "Portis is washed up/injury prone" was just nonsense. I guess LT2 is washed up.
Portis is injury prone. He never finishes the season in one piece.Having said that, he is the man when healthy, clearly. I thought Betts would get more touches than he is, but, having watched a couple of games, Portis is clearly the better runner.

what are giving up for betts? His value does not seem as high as it once was. I am a portis owner and want to trade for betts but not willing to give up alot.

what is a fair offer?

2nd round rookie pick?

young WR?

No way I'd give up a 2nd round rookie pick to have Betts.

i was thinking the same thing. I think the betts owners missed their opportunity to sell betts for some good value

true. in one league, i had offered santana for betts in pre-season, and was turned down. owner came back to see if the offer was still available, and i said no...this coming after i have significantly downgraded santana. betts is now on waivers in that league...i haven't even bothered to pick him up.

Portis owner in MANY dynasties (too hard to pass up where he was falling), yet only have Betts in a few of them.

Another two weeks and the Betts owners will be sending you offers for your WR4/5. Betts looks bad, take this from a die-hard Skins fan who watches every play and is a HUGE fan of Betts. Last year he ran hard, looked quick, etc. This year, he looks tired, much slower, and very sloppy.

It really is sad, because the key to Portis continuing his studliness is a healthy, efficient change of pace RB like Betts. Now, when Betts goes in, nothing happens and his carries are wasted downs.

Betts still looks decent on screen passes, when he is out in space he is ok. But I do agree that he looks like a player that was playing for a contract last year. He seems content to be a back up.

Which runningback doesn't get dinged up?Injnury prone? I don't think so.

:goodposting: He's missed what 11 games in 6 seasons, I won't even mention that he would not have gone on IR last year if the Skins were in playoff contention.

15% Not counting games like week 1 of this season where he played fairly banged up (and even injured his ribs in the game to add to his injuries).

Redskins RB Clinton Portis is adjusting to sharing the rushing load with Ladell Betts. Although Portis has more carries this year (48 to Betts' 30), coach Joe Gibbs made itclear that he counts the two as equals. "We think they're interchangeable," Gibbs said. So far, the results are mixed.Portis' numbers are OK but not great: 227 yards, a 4.7-yard average and three touchdowns. Betts (82 yards, 2.7 average) didn't have a second-half carry last week until the two at the end of the game against the Giants when he was stuffed at the goal line. He said the tag-team approach means he doesn't have "the same type of rhythm" he had when Portis was injured last year. Both Portis and Betts are on a bye in Week 4. They return inWeek 5 against Detroit, and Portis is a No. 2 Fantasy RB, with Betts a No. 3 option.

all players get dinged and dents throughout the year. Portis plays through it, even with his rib irritation he still has put up some very decent numbers, almost 100yds in weeks 2 (76 yards) and 3 (90 yards) with a TD in each. He is also averaging over 4 ypc in those two games.

 CBS is right. A 4.7 YPC and 3 TDs in 3 game sucks pretty bad.Edit - I'm thinking the writer of that email is a Betts owner.

The loss of 2/5 of his offensive line is rough, but Portis has been pounding through it. Awesome talent, tenacious runner and a great all around player.

:P I like the part about Portis being a No. 2 fantasy RB. Um, he's currently RB7. Unless you play in a 6-team league, that's a No. 1 fantasy RB.
