Same thing was said about Curtis Martin and LT. Martin won the rushing title his last year in the league if I'm not mistaken. Not saying Portis will, but I doubt he's completely done.I give this one a big NO! He's done!
Philadelphia would be ideal for Portis.3rd down back somewhere with potential for more carries if starter goes down/underperforms.
He's on the WW in two of my four 26-man PPR dynasty leagues too. Once he finds a home he'll get picked up by someone in these leagues if the situation is reasonable.in a recent 16-team, 25-man, non-idp draft, he went undrafted.
Portis has publicly said (paraphrasing) that he's looking for a starting job with starting money and short of that he may as well try to come back to DC. Personally, I think there's at least a 50/50 chance he is back in DC. If he does leave, I think Philly would be low on his list of places to go. Mostly, that's because of his comments about looking to be a starter, but I'll be honest and admit that part of it is because I can't stand the thought of him donning the Philly green every week.Philadelphia would be ideal for Portis.3rd down back somewhere with potential for more carries if starter goes down/underperforms.
He also said he'd like to play for the Giants, maybe he's speculating Bradshaw leaves, but he didn't say I'd like to play for the Giants if Bradshaw leaves.Portis has publicly said (paraphrasing) that he's looking for a starting job with starting money and short of that he may as well try to come back to DC. Sounds like IND or GB to me. They're both passing teams that desperately need to keep their QBs off the ground.I don't think Portis has any chance to be a starter in this league anymore unless there is a team which a huge need. To be honest, I don't think there is one team like that ATM. He could be a solid 3rd down player as he is one of the best blockers and could run pretty hard. He doesn't have that break away ability and isn't flashy but could get the job done for teams
Now I know you only signed up in 2009, and so may be too young to remember, but Clinton Portis was a top-5 back for a number of years in the league.Who?
That in a nutshell has been the most frustrating thing for Skins fans the last few years. Portis can't seem to stay on his feet. His balance is horrible and falls either untouched or on first contact far too often. He's still the best pass protector in the game, and I love watching him launch himself and stone a defender. But yeah, I don't expect much from him offensively anymore.
Thank you, now if someone could just explain Priest Holmes, Brian Westbrook, Fred Taylor, Corey Dillon, and Edgerrin James...Now I know you only signed up in 2009, and so may be too young to remember, but Clinton Portis was a top-5 back for a number of years in the league.Who?![]()
