furtherI truly believe you won't notice it," Solari said in his first meeting with reporters since being promoted by new Chiefs coach Herm Edwards. Friday. "There are not going to be a lot of changes. This is the Kansas City Chiefs offense, and we're going to do what we do."Kansas City Chiefs
Offensive Coordinator -- Mike Solari -- After serving as Kansas City's offensive line coach for nine seasons, Mike Solari has been promoted to offensive coordinator by new HC Herman Edwards. Obviously Edwards values continuity on a team with an explosive offense and devastating running attack.
That means Solari, now in his 18th NFL season, is staying with the Don Coryell offense with its heavy emphasis on shifting, movement and run-pass balance.
And while he acknowledges that he doesn't have the passing game background of former coordinator Al Saunders, who left Kansas City for Washington after being bypassed as **** Vermeil's replacement, Solari insists that any line coach who's been around as many good offensive people as he has learns something about all aspects of offense.
"I've been blessed in 18 years in this league to have been around some great coaches. I worked with Tom Landry (in Dallas), Gene Stallings (at Phoenix and the University of Alabama), George Seifert and Bill Walsh (at San Francisco) and here in Kansas City with Marty Schottenheimer, Gun (Cunningham) and **** Vermeil. I've had a great opportunity to learn."
Pretty impressive list of coaches he's worked for
