Kansas City Chiefs

Offensive Coordinator -- Mike Solari -- After serving as Kansas City's offensive line coach for nine seasons, Mike Solari has been promoted to offensive coordinator by new HC Herman Edwards. Obviously Edwards values continuity on a team with an explosive offense and devastating running attack.
furtherI truly believe you won't notice it," Solari said in his first meeting with reporters since being promoted by new Chiefs coach Herm Edwards. Friday. "There are not going to be a lot of changes. This is the Kansas City Chiefs offense, and we're going to do what we do."

That means Solari, now in his 18th NFL season, is staying with the Don Coryell offense with its heavy emphasis on shifting, movement and run-pass balance.

And while he acknowledges that he doesn't have the passing game background of former coordinator Al Saunders, who left Kansas City for Washington after being bypassed as **** Vermeil's replacement, Solari insists that any line coach who's been around as many good offensive people as he has learns something about all aspects of offense.

"I've been blessed in 18 years in this league to have been around some great coaches. I worked with Tom Landry (in Dallas), Gene Stallings (at Phoenix and the University of Alabama), George Seifert and Bill Walsh (at San Francisco) and here in Kansas City with Marty Schottenheimer, Gun (Cunningham) and **** Vermeil. I've had a great opportunity to learn."

Pretty impressive list of coaches he's worked for

NEW YORK JETS-Named Richie Anderson assistant wide receivers coach, Bryan Cox assistant defensive line coach, Mike Devlin assistant offensive line coach, Andy Dickerson coaches assistant, Jim Herrmann linebackers coach, Noel Mazzone wide receivers coach, Jason Michael offensive quality control, Brett Bech and Rick Lyle assistant strength & conditioning coaches, Jimmy Raye running backs coach, Brian Schottenheimer offensive coordinator, Bob Sutton defensive coordinator and Tony Wise offensive line coach.

Rams staff is now complete.

Rams head coach Scott Linehan completed his staff of assistants today by hiring Brian Baker as defensive line coach.

Baker had been with the Minnesota Vikings since 2001 after four seasons with the Detroit Lions and one with the San Diego Chargers.

He replaces Bill Kollar, who was not retained by Linehan and was hired by Buffalo.

The Rams originally had agreed to hire University of Idaho head coach Nick Holt as defensive line coach, but Holt reconsidered and took the job as defenbsive coordinator at Southern California.

BUFFALO BILLS-Named Matt Sheldon linebackers coach and DeMontie Cross defensive/special teams assistant.

OAKLAND RAIDERS-Named Tom Walsh offensive coordinator, Jackie Slater co-offensive line coach, Irv Eatman co-offensive line coach, Jim McElwain quarterback coach, Ted Daisher special teams coach, Darryl Sims assistant defensive line coach, Lorenzo Ward assistant defensive backs and assistant special teams coach, Robert Ford quality control offense and George Martinez quality control defense.
