Coco Crisp for Angel Pagane (sp?) (1 Viewer)

Koya

Not sure what Crisp brings outside of great fielding - but the Mets need a bat in the OF more than a glove.

Just heard this on WFAN (Mets flagship) so we will see what happens. Angel has been ripping it this spring fwiw.

Makes me wonder if Beltran's knees are worse than they have led on.
I didnt even think about that. If so, it will take a LOT more than Coco Crisp to take his place. Unless they get Coco cheap for CF defense and THEN go out and get a sizeable bat for a corner OF position.

that doesn't pass the sniff test - just as bad as that Fuld/Marquis rumor from a few days ago

The Sox don't need Crisp, but they don't need to give him away like that either.

Crisp for Pagan straight up would be a steal for the Mets.

Crisp would be a replacement for Alou - not Beltran. After Alou comes back Crisp could start in RF vs lefties - where Church struggles. It would also give Beltran some rest in CF if needed.

Makes a lot of sense to me. although I'm not sure there is anything to this rumor at all. Alou gone for a few months, and ancient. Beltran hasn't even played in the field yet this spring. Move him to left, Church in right, Crisp in center. Mets outfield isn't really very good right now, particularly defensively. Crisp is still close to gg caliber defensively.
