COD: Black Ops 3 (1 Viewer)

The Remington is the shotgun to run around with. The other three are either weak, S-12 and M1216, or you have to be super accurate with, KSG. I am playing almost exclusively with the Remington on the small maps and it is a blast.
The S12 isn't too bad once you level it up to at least have the long barrel. Still weaker than you'd like but the fire rate makes up for some of that.I'm not even sure which one the Remington is.

Have you played by yourself or just with a team?I have tried playing by myself a few times and it's been horrible. My team always seems to end up really really bad.
I played with Clawyer and Smoke last night for the first time. The games were at least mildly interesting even with a bad connection.

We ended up solo, we only had three playing. I ended up silver rank 133, but in our defense we won 4/5 games and only lost one because the other team dashboarded and ended the game, which from what I've read results in a loss for us. We may have been 3/5 because I remember a hardpoint we lost too. Not sure if that was before or after our ranking though.

I have an Xbox 360 and Skyrim has run its course. Last time I tried this franchise I played COD: Modern Warfare. Loved it. Should I pick this up?

Yes on both counts. In BF3 it is the 870MCS. In BO2 it is the M870, I think.I prefer it to the other 3 shotties.
 
Is the Nuketown 2025 map not part of the rotation in public matches? I have yet to use this map.
It's in the "Chaos Moshpit" rotation (under Bonus). That's it.
That's lame. It should be part of KC & TD as well.
I agree completely. The good news though is that it comes up quite a bit on the chaos playlist, and everybody votes for it twice when it's an option. That particular playlist should just be called "Nuketown and sometimes Hijacked" since those maps are so popular.

I dunno. I run around like an effing maniac with the S-12, blasting everything that moves, 4, 5, 6 times. All the while giggling like a maniac. I LOVE it. I love that I can shoot anything that moves, and then shoot again 3 or 4 times, becuase I don't have to pump the damn thing.

That is the big drawback with the 870. If you miss with your shot you might not get a second as the pump animation is so slow. Will have to give the S-12 another shot.

Out of curiosity, how many people does it say are typically on the 360 version most nights?

I'm wondering if the somewhat better connections for the 360 versus the PS3 are simply from more people playing thus giving it more host options using the P2P hosting service.

What makes me wonder that is that I'm always surprised at how relatively few people seem to be playing the game with the huge sales numbers they have.

On a related but different note, it also surprises me just how much more popular TDM is than all the other game types. It usually has at least twice, if not three or four times the number of people playing it than any other game type. KC and Dom are usually next, but way behind. I know if I go play CTF or Hardpoint that the connections will suck just because only 5-10k people are playing them at most.

When you get a good connection this game is the best COD IMO.
For me, COD4 will always be the best. But this is the first Treyarch iteration I really like and plan on keeping.
Thats when I first started and I was late to that party and FPS in general so it took me a while to get going. I may have enjoyed that game more had I actually been good lol
I still own COD4 and play the multiplayer occasionally. Brilliant game.

Totally disagree here. For me it has been the best year in a long time. It has been a bad year for multiplayer shooters because yearly editions has made them stale. But The Walking Dead(GOTY imo), XCOM Enemy Unknown, Borderlands 2, The Witcher 2, Dishonored, Minecraft(I never played it on PC), and Mass Effect 3 are all great games that offer a bunch of variety. I think the fact that I'm still enjoying Gears of War 3 and recently acquired Battlefield 3 helps with keeping the multiplayer spectrum fresh. Different strokes.

Looks like they nerfed smg's a bit and made some other changes.

I know there are a few in this thread that will be happy that a HC Kill Confirmed playlist is being added.

Notes:

Scorestreaks:

UAV: cost increased from 350 to 425.

Lightning Strike: added 750ms delay.

Equipment/Grenades:

Bouncing Betty: increased the grace period between trigger and activation by 200ms.

Sensor Grenade: increased the range (now 1000 units), frequency (now 800ms between pings), and amount of time (now 6s) that players appear after explosion.

Concussion Grenade: decreased movement penalty and turn speed penalty when hit.

SMGs:

All: increased hip fire recoil.

All: increased max hip fire spread from 4.75 to 5.

All: reduced bullet penetration.

MSMC: increased recoil slightly.

PDW-57: increased recoil slightly.

Assault Rifles:

All: reduced idle sway for more reliable long-range aiming.

XM8: reduced lethal range of 3-hit kills from 250 to 50 inches.

XM8 / Select Fire: increased recoil.

FAL OSW / Select Fire: increased recoil.

SWAT-556 / Select Fire: increased recoil.

MTAR: Made auto aim values consistent with all other assault rifles.

Sniper Rifles:

All: increased hip fire spread.

All + Laser Sight: increased hip fire spread.

XPR-50: increased recoil slightly.

Shotguns:

R870: reduced one-hit kill range by 45 inches.

Pistols:

B23R: reduced headshot multiplier from 1.4 to 1.

KAP-40: reduced headshot multiplier from 1.4 to 1.

Black Ops 2 PS3 Issues Addressed

Fixed a rare hang ("Awaiting Textures") upon loading into maps when joining a session in progress after fresh boot.

Game now resets the Care Package for a non-owner if the owner re-rolls the package using the Engineer perk.

Players with Black Hat PDA can no longer hack a Care Package faster than the owner can capture it.

Addressed an exploit where modified console hackers could maliciously spread infected films to other users.

Added a fail-safe to prevent spawn trapping in CTF.

Increased sight checks on turrets to improve spawning algorithms.

Fixed a number of new UI error messages reported by users.

Addressed a number of issues that would cause friendly/enemy color indicators on equipment and scorestreaks to display as the wrong team.

Improved overall Theater and Live Streaming stability.

Improved film rendering stability and made progression bar more accurate while rendering a film.

Addressed issues which prevented some master challenges from being completed.

Precision challenge "Wet Work" will now unlock with 10 kills.

The wins challenge will now account for all FFA modes when ending a match with a tie (if you are in the top 3).

Players that help with the "Synchronized Attack" challenge now get credit for it.

Players will not be able to manually take control of their AGR if they die at the exact moment that their AGR deploys.

Emblem Editor no longer closes the current emblem when discarding changes.

Players using Ghost will no longer be invisible at all times in Custom Games with the mini-map option set to "constant".

Players using Ghost and a Suppressor attachment will no longer appear on the enemy's minimap while shooting and moving while a UAV is up.

The median for the K/D graph in the AAR is set to 1.0 instead of 0.0.

Players can no longer get on top of the shrubs in Nuketown 2025.

Thermal vision overlay no longer appears using the VTOL glitch.

Kills from the explosion on the explosive crossbow bolt now count towards challenges.

Counter UAV no longer remains for the rest of the game after a host migration.

Clan tag is no longer locked immediately after prestige.

Offline profiles can no longer be exploited to join online games when an online profile is also signed in.

Multi-team games no longer count as a tie if an entire team quits.

Fixed an area in Express where K9 Unit dogs could get stuck.

EMP grenades no longer affect the CODcaster HUD.

Party Privacy count no longer affects how many bots will spawn in Combat Training.

Shadows seen through sniper scopes now render more correctly.

Players can no longer stand on invisible collision in Carrier.

"Drop Shot" medal is no longer awarded after standing back up.

Players can now copy a custom class to the extra prestige slot.

Black Ops 2 New Features & Feature Improvements

Added support for posting Live Stream URLs to Twitter.

Improved audio/rumble responsiveness when hitting enemies with gunfire.

Improved overall communication of Double XP when enabled.

AAR better communicates how much XP was earned in each match.

Added the ability to "View League Teams" from any player's Playercard.

Added the ability to "View Playercard" from League solo leaderboards.

Added a number of security system enhancements.

Added Hardcore Kill Confirmed playlist to the Hardcore category
 
Lots of good changes. Hopefully UAVs will be a tad less prevalent now. The delay put in for the lightning strike was needed as well. I always have that equipped because you can rack up 3-4 kills instantly with it. Now it will be more like mortars in BO where guys need to either be standing still or you have to predict their movement better.

The bouncing betty needed a delay too. Unless you had flak jacket, that thing is an instakill when it goes off.

Also like that they increased the hipfire spread on snipers. I am tired of getting killed by a guy running around with a SR hip firing and getting one shot kills on me from a few hundred feet away. I'm disappointed that they didn't either increase the ADS time for sniper rifles or increase the sway though. But that's obviously a pipe dream at this point. The COD teams have shown they want to please the kiddies with their quickscoping rather than make the gameplay better.

I think we all knew the SMGs were getting nerfed. Altering the hipfire accuracy doesn't affect me much as I tend to ADS most of the time anyway. The added recoil to the PDW could suck though.

 
Also, disappointed that there's nothing in there addressing the wildly varying connections.
This will always be #1.
They've failed to address this for 7 years. not going to resolve it in less than a month.
Connections more or less are what they are. They'll make some adjustments that will hopefully make things better over time but lag isn't going away in party play on this generation of consoles for P2P connections.Also, I had my best connection ever playing solo for part of one game (host migrated) the other night while I had my work laptop logged into the VPN connection. I had host for like the first time ever. It was glorious.
