Also, disappointed that there's nothing in there addressing the wildly varying connections.
I changed my connection type (located in Public match / playlist / hit X for search preferences) to 'BEST' and it's made a huge difference.
I have that. It's just amazing that one game I shoot a guy and he dies and I crush it and the very next round I'm firing first with an SMG and getting hit markers and still die.The more I think about it, the delay to the lightning strike is bs. If someone is taking a flag, you should be able to call in a LS and save the flag. This delay will make that very tough.
 
Players using Ghost and a Suppressor attachment will no longer appear on the enemy's minimap while shooting and moving while a UAV is up.

wow, so ghost wasn't working at all? I swear I felt like I would be moving in the back of the map by myself and still be found.

Seems pretty dumb to nerf the mcs shotgun range. In no way was it overpowered.

I second that statement.The 870 sets up so slowly for a second shot that cutting its kill range is not necessary. When you factor in all of the drawbacks you incur by using a pump action shotgun in no way is it OP.
:goodposting: I have no objection to nerfing the SMGs, but the 870 was fine the way it was.
Disagree. Getting really old to get shot with a shotgun from across the deck in hijacked (as an example) and it be a one shot kill. I don't mind that happening close in, but the range was too far IMO. I hope they nerf the pistols next if they nerfed the SMGs, they are almost as bad. I don't remember any of the other CODs with as many people running around with pistols.

I liked that the bouncing betty go off quickly. In MW3 the betty was totally useless. People had plenty of time to duck, or they'd just run stalker-pro or sitrep.

I guess we'll have to see how much delay they added, but if the delay is like MW3 I won't bother running bouncing betty's anymore. Maybe I'll try grenades and see if I can get any of those magical tosses that always seem to land and blow up at my feet from over buildings and stuff. :rolleyes:

First of all, I think you're exaggerating the range of one-hit kills. I never get super long range kills, and rarely get mid-range kills with it. Second, the drawbacks of the gun are so high it's ridiculous to limit it to point blank range.

It isn't always 1 shot kills from that range, but enough that I have said a bad word or 2 when it happens. I am assuming the person is running long barrel as an attachment and it probably is happening at a 25% clip from that range. Maybe it is headshots. :shrug:On the second part, while I realize it is a game and not real :unsure: , shotguns are point blank weapons for the most part. I think they should put them back as a secondary and keep them as point blank. I have used them and it is a ton of fun to run around with them (even though I suck at it) and blast people coming around a corner, but my biggest gripes with the game (other than lag/connection issues) has been the shotguns needing nerfed and that #$!%^^!%!!@#$ quickscoping needs to be taken out! :rant: :hot: :bag:
 
1) Yeah, you can get killed with a shotgun from across the deck on Hijacked, but it would be the KSG with long barrel which shoots a slug and has to be super accurate.

2) And they did nerf the handguns. The BSR and KAP both had their headshot multiplier reduced which means more bullets to kill even with a headshot. Surprised they didn't reduce the range on them as well though.

ETA: The more I think about it, they screwed up nerfing the SMGs. The SMGs aren't the problem; the small cluttered maps just make everyone use SMGs. Nerfing SMGs and reducing idle sway for ARs won't make ARs any more well suited for the small maps and claustrophic maps.

The reason why you die to shotguns all the time on Hijacked is because it's one of small handful of maps that are basically custom-made for shotguns, so lots of people use them when that map comes up. Try running an 870 on Turbine and see how things go.

I will have to take your word for it since I don't really know 1 shotgun from the other, the only one I have ever used is the first pump action. Didn't know one used a slug, that actually makes sense.Doesn't seem to matter if it is headshots or not with the pistols, the burst or full auto ones seem to do as much damage as the SMGs...will see this weekend I guess.I don't know, the nerfing of my PDW (love the huge mag) may make me go back to the FAL. I loved it but it shot so slow compared to the SMGs that at close range I was losing most of the battles.

Probably true, just seems like I run into them on every map. They all have tight spots that if you just patrol a small area I could see using a shotgun shouldn't be too bad. Although most of the people I have seen using them are the types to rush so you are probably much more correct than I am.Sheesh, you people are just not good at letting an old man whine about a video game are you? :rolleyes:

It is definitely tailored to those who are able to run consistently with a group in a league. Public games are basically impossible to play.

I see what they tried to accomplish with all the anti-camp measures they took (99% sure the congested maps would have been enough), but if you play with some donkeys and a stealth chopper / dragonfire is up with a opponent UAV, you are ####ed. At least in old versions, you could hide with a 7 killstreak and blackbird/dogs on deck to help your team come back.

Since they nerfed the Remington I can't seem to get a one hit kill unless they're right in front of me. The KSG sucks IMO and it seems like the S12 is similar to the Remington. So is the M1216 the shotgun to go with now?

Just to let you know in case I disappear from playing Blops on xbox. I have a wager with a couple friends that play Blops 2 on PS3. 2(me and xbrees) versus 2(ps3 friends).

Losers have to trade in console for winners prefferred console. Been trying to get them on Xbox for a while now.

I think the changes make it harder to dominate, not easier. Most guys that put up huge numbers do so with SMGs that can kill very quickly and reload very quickly and are perfect for rushing. These changes make it tougher to put up huge kill numbers, not easier.I think they just did it because almost everyone uses SMGs and some people are mad that ARs and LMGs are useless. But, IMO, that's not fixable by altering gun stats because it's purely a function of map size and design. Nuketown and Firing Range were by far the most popular maps on BO. So Treyarch basically tried to make every map fairly similar to those two maps. There are very few long sight lines in this game.

This is pretty awesome. There's a vent in the hot tub on Hijacked that you can throw a grenade up through from down below and it puts the nade right on B flag.
I love this tip. Anyone know of any other "glitches" (not really glitches, but useful, not well-known things) like this?

I hadn't seen dogs at all, but then I saw them three times last night, plus a bunch of warthogs, lodestars, and other high-level scorestreaks. Not sure what that was all about . . .

It's getting easier to hit the high streaks. People know maps, chokepoints and headglitch spots and avoid/exploit them now.
 
Had fun with pollard's crew at least. Not sure if any of his buddies are FBG
Don't remember who was on the other night, but most of them are friends of Outcold, who's on FBG (Chuck Cecil). Bogey's was probably there. gianmarco's on regularly when he doesn't have a newborn in the house. BWWmbassador plays with us from time to time.
 
Switched to the S12 from the Remington after they nerfed the one hit kill range and I've been doing a lot better. LOVE the semi-auto shotty. Consistently getting a K/D above 3.

 
How much does Fast Mag attachment actually help? I've been using it but it doesn't seem to make it go that much faster. I'm considering switching it out.

I assume it's about twice as fast. If you're a runner like I am, it makes a difference. Obviously, it makes little difference if you're a sniper.
 
One thing I really like is that leaderboards and the like make SPM, Captures, Defends, Comfirms, Denies, etc. much more prominent. k/d isn't nearly the same focus anymore and that is a very good thing.

And I'm becoming increasingly convinced that the probation system was put in place because they knew they had problems with connections / hosting. Deal or don't play mentality.
 
Played in one of the worst games ever last night.

I was partied up with a buddy and we had 4 randoms. We were playing kill confirmed on overkill (overflow?) and got slaughtered. Me and my buddy were both a few kills over .500, in the 25 and 20 range, with about the same amount of confirms as kills. The bottom 3 guys on our team were a combined 22-70 with 14 confirms. So frustrating.

Yeah, the only time I bail is when the connection is garbage or there have been a few times where it was clear a guy was cheating somehow.Last night I was in a game where I kept dying on my screen before the other guy even fired his gun. Time to bail when that happens.

SPM is what I look at when comparing player skill. I'm glad that has been implemented as it makes all players worry about things that help the team and not just kills.

I agree. Most of us could have a 5+ k/d if We wanted but our SPM would be low 200.
 
I'm looking through the Challenges and some of them seem unbelievably hard.

Wet Work: Get 10 kills without dying with no weapons or perks equipped.

Chain Killer: Get a chain of more than 8 rapid kills

Get a kill with every bolt in a crossbow clip

And some of the launchers challenges seem to be screwed up. I killed an AGR last night with the FHJ and didn't get credit for that challenge despite getting credit for killing an AGR under anothe challenge where you have to kill 10 AGRs. I also have kills with the RPG (and have it unlocked) but don't have the points from the RPG Qualified challenge where all you have to do is unlock it.
