Colin Kaepernick Thread and related anthem kneeling issues/news (2 Viewers)

I would say it's a very common trait that lesbians who are in the headlines have, right?  The ones who get criticized the most.  What is it that bothers you so much about them?
You might need a Venn diagram lesson here. Just because something has a quality does not mean it is hated for that quality.

At least one was upset about her being a lesbian (at least politically and as to why he wouldn't support Title IX).
I'm nowhere near upset with her lesbianism.

Lesbians were overrepresented in both the drafting of Title IX and are overrepresented in women's sports in general. The political ramifications flow thenceforth.

I'm just forming my own opinion based on what you've been saying.  I could very well be wrong.  I'm willing to listen to more of why you don't like women like Rapinoe.

Maybe but you’re not trying very hard to characterize them yourself. You still haven’t been specific about what you don’t like.
That would take a long essay and a long time. I think the burden of proof is on the person disputing my notion of your average lesbian, politically.

I haven't said very much and haven't said anything about my personal feelings towards Rapinoe.

I’m still not exactly clear what that notion is.
That of a communitarian liberal with a fem-centric outlook politically. She's generally for left-wing notions of economic equality and her conception of civil liberties also comes from the left. She likes state economic intrusions into nonrenumerated activities and hasn't met a social program she can't get behind. She's socially liberal, an atheist, a relativist, and generally an "it takes a village kind of gal." She's your typical lib.

So your main problem with lesbians is that they’re liberal?

Dude I could introduce you to plenty of conservative lesbians I know including my next door neighbors.

I find it interesting reading other people's opinions on here.  I see a bunch of middle-age to older, middle to upper class, white men sharing their opinions on what they think of other races and women.  It's quite amazing really.

I see that rockaction does not approve much of women who are strong and independent.  I'm not sure I've ever heard him speak up about any men that treat women like they are below them though.  Misogyny gets ignored or passed over much quicker on here but when a women speaks up she gets blasted by some.  It's interesting.
Meh.  Everyone has opinions on everyone else's behavior.  Politics are typically telling people how they should behave and what they should support and believe in.  There's plenty of whining about the behavior of  middle-age to older, middle to upper class, white men too

I see.  Lesbianism but not lesbianism.  Sounds very complex.

It’s possible you just don’t like something that you associate with lesbians and you’ve decided to oppose lesbians because of that thing that you associate with lesbians.

Because I have to be honest, I’m pretty confused why Rapinoe (and I’m assuming you mean just Megan) is a reason to not support Title IX and professional women’s sports. .

Yep, I still got it.

You have a point.  I think it's justified a lot of times though.  White, middle-aged men have been king of the mountain for quite some time now.

Yep, I still got it.
I suppose that if your point is that I oppose the politics of the average lesbian, therefore I oppose lesbianism, is taken as sound, then sure, you still got it.

But lesbians give me no trouble until, in concert, they act politically. Then it affects me. Lesbians tending to vote liberal and in droves should not be a controversial statement here.

Yes, you do. And if anyone has doubts this guy is an anti-gay bigot or a homophobe check out the Deadnaming thread where he refused to deny that he believes that gay men and lesbians have a mental illness.
No, I refuse to answer your question because of how you approached it. You were a little would-be tyrant, as always, and I don't like it.

Yes. And anyone who says they don’t like middle aged white men because they’re conservative bigots who try to control women’s bodies and push religion on everyone is being exactly like rock is right now. Anyone who says that because of that we should stop allowing commercials for baldness cures or viagra as a result would be laughed out of the political marketplace.

We have convocations of eagles and murders of crows, is there a name for a group of lesbians?

If middle-aged white men tended to do those things in large numbers and with a great disparity, it'd behoove someone to point the tendency out. And it wouldn't get them laughed out of the political marketplace of ideas. In fact, Bella Abzug's recognitionof the gender gaps in voting made her a political lioness.

FWIW I don’t think you’re a bigot or anti-gay, rock. But I do think you’ve got some misconceptions here. You sound like an old episode of Limbaugh with his feminazi shtick. And a little bit like an August Strindberg character. You need to stop generalizing.

No, my point is you’ve prejudged a group of people with some average characteristic you’ve ascribed to them and used it as a reason to say you don’t like having the group around and don’t support it.

Which starts to seem like you just don’t like the group and are looking for an articulable reason that isn’t “ick.”

No, I refuse to answer your question because of how you approached it. You were a little would-be tyrant, as always, and I don't like it.
I asked:

Do you think being gay or lesbian is a mental illness?
Simple and straightforward approach and question that you refused to answer and the obvious inference from that is that you think that gay and lesbians are mentally ill but you don't want to come out and say so.

Once again if you wish to correct the record for future LGBT related discussions, this is time to do so.

Cut out this nonsense.  He doesn't owe you an answer to anything.  And you're full of crap if you think you can assign a position to him and demand he set the record straight if he doesn't like it.

No. I haven't betrayed myself as misogynist or bigoted in the least. If anyone looks at any sampling of lesbian political outlooks, they'd be hard-pressed not to agree with me. And my outlook is not their outlook; ergo, I don't like lesbian politics in general.

You changed what I said by putting my suggestion as to reaction about limiting commercials onto determination of gender gap voting, which isn’t part of my statement.  I won’t discuss things with you when you get like this.

A few lyrics from a new Kesha song.

Rich, White, Straight, Men

What if rich, white, straight men
Didn’t rule the world anymore?
(Hahahahahahahahaha)

I lost your point admittedly. When I'm trying to respond to four people in-depth and on a phone keyboard, I may not be as nuanced as required by the task set forth by the logical progression therein.

And DW, I I not know what we'd call a group of lesbians, though the subtlety of your point is not lost.

Also, I hardly see how limiting Viagara commercials is analogous to this situation. I never said anything about limiting Rapinoe's right to silently protest the national anthem. I just wasn't surprised given her lesbianism. Much like Abdul-Rouf or Kaepernick, none of the major anthem "culprits" surprise me.

Oh please. I don’t like lesbians because they’re liberal!

Hard to find a comment more misogynist than that one.

Your choice of word here is illuminating, though you already knew that.

You think Kaepernick’s a lesbian?

Nowhere have I said even remotely close to what you're saying. I don't like lesbian politics. That they have a distinct identity/political outlook is neither new nor controversial.

I have no problem with any athlete marketing themselves so when their playing days are over. Let`s be real she is getting long in the tooth for competitive soccer and this will be her last shot to market herself for people to remember when her playing days are over. Just like CK did when he knew his starting gig was in jeopardy and now he has a whole new following marketing himself as a martyr and his career will be longer. Hats off to both of them because sports is a business first and if you can take something away for yourself go for it.
I agree it was a brilliant well planned move because at 33 this is her last chance to increase brand awareness, right now Megan is more well known than she ever was from just soccer.  Sports are business first and now Megan has set her brand up for a long time.

On a serious note- the only reason that most lesbians tend to be liberal is because conservatives are allied to Christian conservatives who have persecuted homosexuality. If the conservative movement as a whole was dominated by libertarians such as yourself, a whole lot more lesbians and gay men would be conservative. Other than the persecution and bigotry against them, there’s no ideological or philosophical connection between homosexuality and liberalism.

Um, I don't think you should be calling anyone that on this board. Especially with no proof , because there isn't any

See you after your timeout

The points he talked about have been made in this thread.  Some are upset with her not putting her hand on her heart and singing...at least one was upset about her being a lesbian (at least politically and as to why he wouldn't support Title IX).
I said multiple times none of that matters.  What matters is her expressing dismay towards the country and expressing that she does not want to show any respect.  To you her actions are heroic, to me she is a spoiled brat who has expressed zero appreciation for this country.  If someone on the right did some protest because of their pet issue, they would be cast as some intolerant whiner. I don't like her attitude or keap's attitude towards this country.

Wow..You even know how lesbians think. Is there anything you DONT know?  It amazes me

I think that I did have proof.

However since some may not see the failure to answer a question as proof I will delete that post and apologize to rockaction for that characterization.

One of the main reason I despise religion.   Christians persecuted the gays and Muslims kill them and throw them off buildings. Disgusting IMO
