NFL Draft Files
Makhi Hughes will be the focal point of the Oregon offense in 2025 and a top RB selection in the 2026 Draft after transferring from Tulane.
Juiced up and VERY PHYSICAL back who can play all three downs at a high level. RB2 in next year’s class, imo.
Last week, Hughes had just one carry for two yards (and one reception for four more yards). One carry. Very disappointing. The suggestion that Hughes will be the focal point of the offense may not be based on current information.
He's not just going to usurp the role from Noah Wittington and there are plenty of horses in this barn. Hard to tell from one game vs an FCS school too, but Noah's been at Oregon a long time, the coaches and players love him and he is deserving of the bell-cow roll. Everybody loves the shiny new thing and I look forward to watching Hughes play, but he's got plenty of company.
Yep. This was a full RBBC against Montana State Week 1. Whittington led them with a mere 10 carries. A pair of freshman 4-star recruits are ones to keep an eye on: Jordon Davison ran for 3 scores on only 6 carries, and fellow freshman Dierre Hall Jr. put up 48 yards on just 5 carries.
There will be some pressure to get Hughes on the field more, but as long as the Ducks are winning, they may continue to spread the ball around.
