[College] Will Pat White's big play ability translate to the NFL? (1 Viewer)

Here is one of the many Pat White highlight video's. The question will be is if this prolific running QB will be able to translate his ability to the NFL. To date, PW is an average yet extremely accurate and efficient passer. More than likely he will translate to an WR or ATH aka Hines Ward, Randel El, etc.

Thoughts?

5. Pat White, QB, West Virginia

BUZZ: Perhaps the most electrifying player in the country, White is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. The sight of White in the open field is usually followed by the sight of the referee raising his arms. Half of his 14 rushing touchdowns in 2007 came on runs that covered between 20 and 64 yards. He also had a 50-yard run against Rutgers and a 42-yarder against Oklahoma on which he didn't score. Just for good measure, White passed for 1,724 yards and 14 touchdowns against only four interceptions.

I imagine someone will try to turn him in to a WR or KR. He has great moves and clearly understands some of the more complex parts of the game. I ust don't think anyone would try him as a QB.

Anyone who LSU recruits at WR is worth a mention as an NFL prospect.

Obviously we know little about his hands but he is fast enough to be a WR. He isn't the most sudden athelete, but he is elusive.

I like his chances, but hands and route running are not a given. I don't think he'll be a natural like ARE, but he looks smoother than Brad Smith or Matt Jones as an athlete, and that helps a lot.
