Collie v M. Floyd (1 Viewer)

Between Malcolm Floyd and Austin Collie, which one should I be targeting in trades.

Floyd looks like the WR1 for Rivers after Gates.

Collie is further down Manning's pecking order but has put up huge games despite this ( may be more of a situational factor with injuries and corner play)

I'm trading some of my RB depth to improve my WR core.

Unless Vincent Jackson decides to sign, we'll continue to see Floyd put up good numbers. I just don't know I'm buying into Collie just yet. Once his WR's get healthy he spreads the love around quite a bit.

I think that both players will finish with similar numbers by the end of the season. So it depends on what you can trade for either player. Collie has less "perceived value" because he's technically the WR3 while Floyd is technically the WR1. So it might take less to acquire Collie.

If you need consistency I would go with Floyd. You can probably always count on a 5/65/1 type of day out of him and a few better games sprinkled in throughout the season. Collie can easily have just as many monster games, but his floor might a be bit lower and less consistent.

By week 10, when he has 1000 yards and 10 td's, you still won't be convinced.

If it's a PPR scoring league, then target Collie for sure. If it's TD heavy scoring, then you might be able to make a case for Floyd but even then I think Collie is the better choice. He has Manning's full confidence and you can tell they are designing plays to get him the ball and he's catching everything thrown his way. He is playing nearly perfectly at this point and getting a ton of looks.

Good luck getting the Collie owner to sell after his huge start to the season. I would think it would be much easier to acquire Floyd in a trade.
