Post any news here, as rumors are he hurt his shoulder on last drive...he acted like it was really hurting.

Mike Triplett reports the following...

GREEN BAY, WISC. - The New Orleans Saints did not release an injury report after Thursday's game, but receiver Marques Colston appeared to be favoring his shoulder after the team's final drive. It's unknown if the injury was significant or not.

The Saints won't have to release an injury participation report until next Wednesday as they prepare for their home opener against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 18

Marques Colston just walked by. I'm told he's headed to x-ray room. He's walking fine though, so that's good.

Hope its nothing, but it looks to be something.

I saw him favoring his shoulder in that last drive...looked like a shoulder separation at the time from his reaction.

I hope thats all, as that is a few week injury, not 6-8 week or more injury.I had one before, not good, but you can bounce back in a few weeks with his kind of rehab. But lets see what XRays say.

was just about to post this as I read it from last night.http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports

Sept. 08, 2011 11:54 p.m. - by James Carlton - Colston's great catch may be costlyMarques Colston laid out to make a crucial, 32-yard diving catch in the final minute. But it looked like the Pro Bowl WR injured his shoulder on the play. He was favoring it as he walked off the field. Saints RapidReports

Not sure if you've noticed, but when people walk, they generally swing their arms at their sides. If you've hurt your shoulder, walking normally becomes increasingly difficult. If there's a separation or something in that order, they favor the shoulder extensively and usually walk differently and are hunched/leaning over. I'm not saying that Colston isn't hurt, but the fact that he seemed to be walking fine is a somewhat positive sign.

When you have Colston's Knee's its always a positive when you can walk.

I drafted this pretzel in my ffpc league and regretted it the minute i did it. There was a HUGE run on WRs in my draft and i panicked. He looked like he was in alot of pain and i'm thinking either separated or broken, which equals SCREWED for anyone that drafted him. Including me!

I can never keep the Saints straight, if Colston is going to miss time is Henderson or Meachem the pickup?
Yes.
That's what I figured.
Henderson was on the field for the first play last night, but they did rotate in and out all game. I don't think you can really choose between Henderson and Meachem--they are very similar players and either could blow up or disappear. If Colston is OUT it is good for both. Although if Moore is healthy, I see him as the biggest beneficiary of a Colston injury. He has always carried the load when he played and Colston didn't.

He appeared to injure his shoulder on the final drive when he caught the ball and landed on the shoulder. It's not shown in the video but as he ran back to the line of scrimmage for the hurry up his shoulder was hanging funny and looked like he was in alot of pain. I was surprised to not see anything posted about it last night.

Hard to say if it will make him miss any games but if I had to guess from what I saw on the field he misses the next 1-2 games.

reading the injury is feared to be significant. If Colston goes down for any period of time, who is the pickup, Henderson or Meachem. Would seem to me Meachem played a lot in double TE sets as the only WR on the field and he has the closest size to Colston and can be a burner. Not convinced Henderson's big night is anything more than a mirrage, it happens every year with him.

I'm leaning Meachem, anyone agree?

:lmao: This stuff gets me every time.
The NFL can save lots of money on doctors by following this forum. Who needs xrays?
My Diagnoses is Collar bone, he came up leaning sideways like Romo did, but i'm not a doctor I just get paid like one.
To me he looked like he was trying to pop his shoulder back into the socket while the play was being called, you know, kinda like that classic way ya always see it when a dislocation happens. who knows, didnt look good anyway you slice it.

So the question becomes, can lance moore step up and be a top 15 wr, or is he miscast as a #1 receiver against better, more physical receivers? He will def be the #1 with colston out, since Brees trusts him the most and he dominated that one year colston was really hurt (3 years ago). Hopefully this Moore groin injury was a one week thing, because if Colston is seriously hurt he is set to gain some major value.

Not a doctor, didn't stay ion a Holiday Inn, but have broken my collarbone. If Colston did do that, it would have been a tremendous feat to still be onfield through a couple of plays. Colston would have had a hard time running at speed, as it's hard to do so without pumping your arms -- we would have seen Colston's route running affected a little more if it was a broken collarbone. That said, I have a high pain threshold, but likley an NFL reeiver has a much higher one, so who knows. My 2 centavos.

He's laughing about the arm chair doctor's diagnosis.
Actually I concur with the diagnosis. I saw Colston's facial expression and body language and it was identical to Mel Gibson's after he escapes from a straight jacket.

Are you talking about Riggs or Mel Gibson?

If this is a significant injury to Colston, any chance Adrian Arrington has value? The guy always looks good when he plays but never gets a chance. Any Saints guys know why?

LMFAO

This Meachem/Henderson stuff is the same every year, they are both one dimensional guys.

I realize that there is a tendency to base things on what happened last night, but I believe that whether Colston is hurt or not, the "other" WR to own is Lance Moore.

Well of course, but the chances that Moore is just sitting there on the waiver wire are much smaller than for those guys.

Meachem is the beneficiary. He will be able to fill Colston's spot while Henderson will continue to be the deep threat.

There's simply too many targets in this offense if everyone is healthy. Colston, Graham, Meachem, Henderson, Moore, PThomas, Sproles, and Ingram running it.

Jay glazer just responded to my tweet and said broken collar bone-4 weeks...dev or meach!!!
Tell Jay to catch up and that I reported this 3 hrs ago, geez they just don't make insiders like they use to.
i read that too but it seemed it was rumored, no sources...glazer comfirmed it.
yea i know i was kidding, that was just my "diagnoses" if were following the thread it was a joke, but funny that it really was collar bone ( well not for him). I saw the RT though from jay he never answers me thats cool. 4 weeks for a collar bone sounds generous, especially for a colston type. He ain't Anquan boldin.

Hard to say really. Adrian Arrington was actually listed #2 behind Colston in the slot last year. I suspect Moore, if healthy, will play more in the slot, but he's been more of an outside guy in the past. Basically, I don't have a clue. It could be Sproles....Moore.....maybe Arrington?

Except they're already calling him questionable for a game 9 days away. Meach and Henderson are both worthy starters in most leagues next week if Moore doesn't go, Meach is the long term play IMO. He has the elite measurables that WR1's have, while Henderson is more of a pure speed guy, who somehow made huge improvements in his ability to catch a football over the last couple years. I'd grab either of them as soon as possible, considering the injury situation down in NOLA.
