Colts at Patriots (1 Viewer)

Never understood the people that doubt Edelman can take over the Welker role in that offense in the future. I know a PR TD has little to do with it, but he's talented, tough, smart, quick, and has good hands. Has seemed like a lock to happen for a couple years now, assuming Welker leaves this offseason.

Exactly what I see happening. Pats probably feel his best football already gone. He's looking to get paid according to his stats. Hard to argue against either side really. It is a business afterall. Pats made their decision already signing Hernandez & Gronk long term. I'm doubtful Welker's willing to sign a team friendly Jordy Nelson type deal.

What happened to Chandler Jones?
Ankle injury. Return questionable. As pats fan not sure I've ever seen that result in guy coming back in.
Mike Reiss @MikeReissPresumed X-rays on Chandler Jones likely came back negative, as Jones is back on the sideline, in unform.
Just read same. Will believe it when I see it. ;)
Oh I know, was just passing along what I saw. And now this:Greg A. Bedard @GregABedardDon't look like Chandler Jones will be returning to the game, unless they're waiting for halftime. Right foot heavily taped, good limp

Ha beat me to it. Hope he's not too seriously hurt given he's their only pass rusher.

Because they tried it part time for the past few years and it didn't work. Then they tried it full time for the first few games and he was awful.

He is most of those things, but he is not talented enough to usurp Welker just because he can kinda maybe sometimes play his role at a reduced level.

But next year, the Pats can't afford to give Welker the $$$ he is seeking. A combo of Hernandez and Edelman will replace his production just fine.

It remains to be seen if there is any team in the league that will meet Welker's contract demands.

Agreed, but I think he would have to take a huge discount to stay in New England. Pats need to spend their money elsewhere.

The Pats and Welker were not that far apart before the deadline hit on re-signing him to a long term deal. That was after Gronk signed but before Hernandez got his deal. I am not so sure the Pats won't make a concerted effort to keep Welker, but it would depend on how many years, the guaranteed money involved, and how much per year. I openly wonder what the market will be for a 32 year old slot receiver.

is the Pats defense playing well or is Luck playing that bad?
Luck's making some great throws, even when under pressure. He made a few bad throws and Patriots took two of them to the house. Wilfork has been very disruptive and the Pats are blitzing a lot. But, the Colts have about 400 yards of offense with 2 minutes left in the fourth. Luck is very good.

Luck really hasn't played good all year. He just gets so many attempts that he puts up big yardage.
His last 3 games have been pretty good...

Had a solid game vs. the Vikes early in the year also
The games against the Jags, Dolphins, and Titans? Well, I suppose you can get excited about beating those teams.
So.... you're saying you were wrong? :lmao:

After seeing the Pats blow three games late this year, they need to learn to put teams away. While still trying to score after already having 50 is over the top, keeping the foot on the gas is probably what they should do every week to avoid late game collapses.

Ok, I'm wrong on the games against the worst teams in the league. When you're averaging a 55% completion rate you're throwing just above JaMarcus Russell. Just because the guy gets yardage doesn't mean he's doing it particularly well.Fantasy football really screws with people's perception of what is a great performance I guess.

I had AP on bye in a 12 team league and thought Woodhead would get me a few points at least. Hasn't had a goose egg the entire season. Oh well.

If you watch the games, you know that Luck is playing well. At the beginning of the year, everyone said the Colt o-line sucks and the receiving core was bad. Luck has the made the Colt offense and WRs much better than anyone expected. Plus, one of the best metrics is 3rd and 4th down conversions. Luck rates fourth in the league behind Manning, Rothlesberger, Ryan and Brees. Put Luck in GB and he'd be all-pro. Put Rodgers in Indianapolis and he'd struggle.

You're welcome to check the game log stats with me next time.

You play who's on the schedule..he's done well recently and an awful team from last year is eyeing a playoff spot.

Obviously today he struggled at times but like someone wrote he played well for the most part in a game vs a superior opponent. Fact is the Colts are over achieving but Luck has been a bright spot for a team that won what 2 games last year with basically the same roster.

So are you actually saying Luck is better than Rodgers? I think your homer is showing a little. A sub-60% completion rate is rarely considered good.
