Colts should sign Jim Sorgi (1 Viewer)

I don't blame the Colts for signing Collins, but shouldn't they also be looking at Jim Sorgi, who knows the system and who has played with several of the Colts currently on the roster?

Where is Sorgi? The last I recall, he was on the Giants roster last season but I don't see him on anyone's depth chart right now.

Reggie Wayne has to be just blowing smoke up the media's bum. No way he can view Curtis Painter as a viable QB. Why hasn't the Colts cut Painter already? There has to be at least a dozen out of work QBs that are better than Curtis "freaking" Painter. He might be the worst NFL player I've ever seen.

The decision isn't sitting well with some Colts. "We don't even know him, we ain't vanilla, man, we ain’t no simple offense," Reggie Wayne said. "So for him to can come in here and be the starter, I don't see it. I think that's a step back." We wouldn't have very high hopes for Collins as a starter either. At age 38, his extreme lack of mobility would be a major problem for the Colts' suspect offensive line.

Lose with Sorgi or lose with Collins...tough choice.

The only thing I can say in defense of Sorgi and Painter is that neither has ever played when the team was trying to win. That means the playcalling is vanilla, and several starters are usually sitting out. Preseason and week 17 non-games aren't the best place to evaluate QB's. That said, both of them sucked. I'll stick with Collins.

Hey, what ever happened to Jared Lorenzen? The Round Mound of Touchdown pulled out a couple of nice plays in preseason '08.

Actually, in Lexington we like to call him The pillsbury Throw Boy. Last I heard he was in a minor football league somewhere.
