Combine predictions (1 Viewer)

I thought it might be interesting to survey the board for some rookie combine predictions. Here are a couple SEC thoughts...

Trent Richardson will blow up the combine like Julio Jones did last year. He'll set a record for 225 reps and exceed everyone's expectations with a sub 4.5 40.

Alshon Jeffry will be hurt by a slow 40 time. 4.5+

For IDP leagues, Dre Kirtpatrick and Mo Claiborne post elite 40 times. Hightower and Upshaw run 4.7 range and both show up at 265+ lbs. Rolando McClain type numbers.

Not making predictions about him, but in 2010 Greg Childs was a darling WR. He got hurt and was passed up by a few WR teamates here at Ark. His interest level is probably going to greatly depend on how he does at the combine.

Another guy that will need to look good after dealing with a major injury is Broderick Green, a RB/FB for Arkansas who transferred from Southern Cal. He is big, strong and pretty fast for his size (~240). He was easier to bring down playing for Arkansas than when he played for USC, but he ran hard. I think his style is alot like Jamal Lewis.

I do predict that Jake Bequette won't impress much at the combine, but I think he could be a good pro. He is strong and has a few different moves. 1st team All-SEC DE means something, right? He's also white, so he has a great motor as well as a high football IQ. He does come from a family full of D1 athletes.

Jarius Wright and Joe Adams will both run low 4.3/high 4.2 times and both will be of the top 5 fastest WRs there.

The easiest one to predict is how people will fall in love with 40 times and forget what they did on the field.

Happens every year with quite a few players.

That's very true. Sometimes it's worthwhile though. For instance I knew who Mike Wallace was in college, but he was far from an awesome prospect IMO. He ran some crazy time and that made me draft him. I'm glad I did. That could be an example of blind squirrel/nut theory, but at least once in a while speed matters.
