Unfortunately we had to kick an owner out of a league. The reasons are valid so please don't address that.

That owner's team will probably make the playoffs and with their team they will probably go far and potentially win. This is a redraft league.

What should be done about determining a new owner and what should be done about their possible winnings?

just freeze his team

same starters and no playoffs for them

If it is a league of FBGs, consider using a "My Team" app and go with the highest ranked players.

Or freeze his team.

I'm sure everyone is hoping that he doesn't win - and if that is the case, why not bounce his team from the playoffs and go with the next best team as another wildcard?

I'd definitely consider that if it is a low $ or "for fun" league.

We have a similar issue. . .except with 2 teams.

We have divisions, and the 2 top teams in each division has a play off spot. . . .

Once the teams were abandonded the line-ups were set based off of average player weekly score. . .

If one of those teams makes the playoffs, the spot becomes a wildcard for the rest of the league.

It's worked out really well.

This is a fairly big money league.I'll discuss it with the league and present the idea of freezing the team and eliminating them from the playoffs. Thanks guy!

if you freeze the lineup you're helping the teams that are left on his schedule by giving them easier matchups which isn't fair to the teams that have already played him. I would lock him out of being able to control his team and play his players that are the highest projected scorers from FBG's or some other ranking. No playoffs, no payday, next best team in playoffs. We've got to know what it takes to get kicked out of a league. I really can't imagine what it could be. Please post even if it's in another thread. I'll bet there are some good stories out there on what it takes to get kicked out of a league these days.

Do you have a provision regarding what happens to the entry fee if an owner leaves?

If not are you going to give him his entry fee back?

If it's a team that was acquired through legitimate means (i.e., he didn't cheat to get those players), then you owe it to yourselves to bring in a new owner to run the team.

You can't just throw off the competitive balance in the name of punishment. The rest of your league is going to be resentful of the teams that get to avoid playing the "frozen" team.
