Okay so I am in the camp where people should play their teams and commish should not veto trades but this is just god awful

Clark, Desmond CHI TE

The Trade: Romo, Lynch, Chad Johnson for Young, Sproles, Berrian

Is this lopsided? To me personally it looks like Team B is just giving up and doesnt care so he accepted the trade. Dont I have a responsibility to keep the intregity of the league in tact.

Thats one of the worst trades I've seen....EVER.

But if the league has a no veto rule.....its S.O.L. for the teams that didnt fleece the owner earlier.

The owner(s) would have to give some outstanding and believable answers as to how he believes it helps his team's weekly gametime efforts, or I'd probably be doling out sanctions for collusion.

That's worse than the Griese for Addai one that almost went down in one of my leagues. I also agree that it should be hands off 99.9% of the time, but that is just putrid.

I don't care if the league has a veto rule or not, a commish has a responsibility to investigate likely collusion, and that is a prime candidate for it.

This is textbook collusion. The kind you only hear about in movies.

For the integrity of the game, you have to overturn.

I would usually say leave it alone and let the owners do what they want, but I believe the parameters of the trade border on collusion.

Even if team B doesn't have some side deal with team A, team B tanking his team and just giving away pieces to the first taker would be considered a form of colusion in my book.

I would do one of two things.

1. Ask team B if they are quitting on their team. If they say yes, take over their team as commish, manage it for the rest of the season with add/drops only, no trades.

2. Ask team B if they are quitting on their team. If they say no, ask them why they feel this is a valid trade. If they don't give you a reasonable answer, take the trade to a league vote, minus the two parties invloved and yourself, and look for a 2/3 (6 out of 9) quorum to overturn.

good veto ... no way can you let this through.

here's a question:

did all the other teams already pay their entry fees and any other fees? if they haven't and you let this go through, i predict that you will have a tough time collecting .... i wouldn't pay up if my commish allowed this to happen

Burn them. Burn them all!Veto. No regrets. Ridicule any defense and have the league join in.Make all trades

suspect with extreme prejudice
between the Berrian owner.Edit to add: Make a point that this type of fire sale/collusive trade ruins a league. Knock it off and play. Stop making you the bad guy, it's not fair to you.

Ok, maybe team B thinks Romo won't play as well after signing a big contract and Lynch will hit the rookie wall any week now and Chad is hurt worse than we know. Why would he want to keep them on his team when he has a chance to pick up studs like Young, Sproles, and Berrian?

:excited:

This particular trade, to me, doesnt fit the mould of someone just making a bad trade when he thought it made his team better.

Romo for Young: Team B has started him 7 out of 8 possible weeks. Team A has started Young 3 out of 8 weeks and Eli the rest of the time.

Sproles for Lynch: Team B has started him every week possible. Team A has never played Sproles

Berrian for Johnson: Team B has started him every week possible. Team A has started him 3 out of 8 weeks.

More info:

Team B has two RB's on bye week this week and now has to start either Rhodes or Sproles as his 2nd RB.

He also must choose between Rivers and Young as QB instead of Romo

Chad Johnson is the #8 WR in this league and Berrian is #34.

More Drama, I contact Team A and ask WTF? and he is like what? Its fair.. aw screw it im out im dumping my roster I Quit.

Can I join your league ? Sounds like a lot of fun. Just tell team A to not act like an idiot and get rid of team B, don't sink to his level its not fair to the (possibly dedicated) owners who trusted you to commish the league

There is no conceivable reason for team B to make that trade. When you can't even make up a decent reason it's obvious crap.

The guy on the 3-6 team should not be invited back next year.
Ya i think I have to lock his team and just let it go the rest of the year. The Team A guy was offended that everyone was #####ing about the trade. I guess i have to undo the trade and possibly just lock the two teams going forward. What a bunch of babies lol. Thanks all, I normally dont like to mess with trades but that is god awful.

In my league I'd veto the trade and both owners will be replaced next season. Fleecing is fine, but that is clear collusion.

I wouldnt accept the trade even if I'm team A. Sure I might be able to blow out the competition and win the championship, but would it be any fun ?

Any money involved ? If there's a cash prize team A and B probably are looking to share the money

Ya i dont think so because its only a $50 league and both Team A and B are well off so I think it is just a case of Team A made the offer and Team B doesnt give a crap so he accepted.I dont think its collusion at all, just a fact of someone giving up.Team A's arugment is that he accepted the offer, its not my fault I was the only one to make the offer.

Smells fishy, why would he even send out an offer that lopsided ? Anyway he should still be told to quit acting like a jerk and let you do your job as commish.

This is obvious collusion. I would veto this trade and immediately kick both owners out of the league for trying this. No refunds, no nothing. They do not deserve to be in the league.
