Commish Reverses his own trade (1 Viewer)

This week our commish reversed his own trade. Basically it goes like this:

Commish offers up Dayne for Burleson. Burleson owner accepts. Commish approves trade. The next morning the commish sends an email to the ex Burleson owner and says he meant for it to be Dayne for Bulger, and reverses the trade. He says at first he felt obligated to approve the trade since he offered it up, then realized that if anyone else had made the trade accidentally he would reverse it for him. He says it was obviosly a mistake cause who would trade an RB1 for a WR3 or WR4.

Is this legit?

no way should he be allowed to reverse for his own stupidity...he had multiple chances to catch this:

1) when typing

2) before he hit "offer trade"

3) after he offered the trade and saw it posted

4) as he chacked back to see if his trade was acted upon

and finally when he approved it

Sorry Charlie but reversing it is lame!!!!

That is why he needs to be extra careful in handling matters. The problem with being commish is that your actions can be viewed differently than a normal owner. He should have thought about what reversing his deal would have been viewed as and for that reason probably left it alone. Taken one for the team...errr...league, if you know what I mean. That is why in both of my leagues, you have to also post it on a message board saying you confirm the deal...even if it went through via MFL.

So where does the RB1 come in?

Even if this is true, he can't reverse his own trade. To avoid the appearance of funny business, commishes must rule against themselves if there is any question. That's just part of the deal.

True enough. I've screwed myself on a few occassions where there was even a whisper of gray area or controversy. The commish is held to a higher standard than all others in the league and cannot have his integrity questioned. Which can suck on occassion.

On MFL.com if you dont have commish lockout - there is a button for execute trade right next to the button for Propose trade. are you sure he didnt accidently execute the trade when logged in as the commish?

Burleson must have switched positions to cover for Alexander being out. I guess Dayne is a WR3/4 now.Edit to add: Trade sounds like junk for junk. The guy has NO basis for reversing it.

:goodposting: I don't know if you could even consider Dayne a RB3. The commish has absolutely no grounds for reversing the trade. Also, I highly doubt that a QB (Bulger) was listed right above or below a WR (Burleson) on the trade offer page. I find this highly suspect.

Along the same lines... who would offer up Dayne for Bulger anyway?

I was just going to ask this myself. How is Dayne for Bulger a legitimate offer? At least Dayne for Burleson is a little more believable. I would call him on it.

Not legit at all. Sounds very much like he saw/read something over the evening and changed his mind about the trade.
