I need the view of the SP for this issue. It's the first real issue I've had in years of being a commish.

The following trade went down today in my 16 team dynasty league.

Team A gave:

Matt Forte

Breaston

Fells

Team B gave:

MJD

Hernandez

2012 1st

2012 2nd

The picks will be #1 or #2 overall (team is 0-7).

When I first saw the trade had been agreed I was surprised as the same trade was offered by Team A last night minus the 2nd round pick and was rejected right away. The only reason I didn't process the trade right away is that team b needed to remove a player from their roster to be under the limit first.

I've now just seen a message from the Team B owner saying that they were have asleep when they hit accept in the email and meant to reject the trade. There's been about 6 hours between the acceptance of the trade and the email I received. Team A owner stays in UK (GMT) and Team B is in Melbourne, it was around 1am when he accepted the trade and as soon as he woke up he's posted the message.

Only other information I can think is relevant is that this is a freeish league ($5 just to cover fees) and that it operates on MFL.com. Having used the site for a while I can see how easy it would be to accidentally hit accept on a trade email. The final thing that complicates matters for me is that I'm facing team A this week, for that reason I'm not keen to reverse the trade as it could seem like I'm cheating, that was leading me to let it stand but I need the views of the SP to help me here.

Thanks

I think that it's fair to cancel the trade, since he emailed you about it first thing in the morning. I stopped answering trade proposals on my cell phone because of the way that MFL sends them out, because it is extremely easy to hit the wrong button. In fact, the only way I feel comfortable declining a trade offer on my cell is by hitting the "counter-proposal" link because it is two lines below the "accept" link.

Yeah just reverse it. Fantasy football is supposed to be fun. He already rejected a similar trade and he came out saying accepting the second trade was a mistake in a reasonable amount of time. You said yourself it would be easy to accidentally accept a trade, which is probably exactly what happened.

i dont really see an issue here. He said he hit accept by accident so overturn it.
That was my thinking I just don't want to be seen as doing something sketchy since I'm playing Team A this week. Want to get the responses of a number of posters and then go back to my league with them.

How robust are your rules around accepting trades? Only you know your league dynamics around this sort of stuff. If you believe he made a mistake and if it's acceptable in your league for you to reverse it, I would. Some leagues have a loose, "do the right thing" approach while others are more "too bad, so sad". Which is yours?

When you use great words like Commissue you can do whatever the hell you want lol.

Seriously though, I don't see a reason to question it if the guy says it was an accident. If players were injured or games were played or something crazy happened effecting the players I'd understand it, but nothing changed. There's no "accept button" in the NFL. You can't accidentally trade a player and shouldn't be forced to.

The main commissue I have is that you have one or more owners (who happen to also be commish, co-commish, 3rd commish, league webside design owner, etc) able to see everyone's trade negotiations, waiver requested, draft pre-selects, etc. It's an extremely unfair advantage for those with access. Even if it is just one person, that's still too much power. Turn that option off.

this. this was a mistake, not a case of buyers remorse. The fact that he turned down a better offer shortly before this acceptance is strong evidence to that regard.

I can't see them. We're all fans of the same soccer team and use it to discuss our league. The two guys involved in the trade were talking about it on there.
