I'll put my DVD collection with anyone's as the lamest of all time. My cousin sent me an Oscar-voters' copy of his movie Chicago when i complained that i kept having to go with people to the theater to see it cuz he & i talked a lot while he was editing it and my excitement got friends excited to see it with me. Didn't even have a player at the time. A gf gimme Altman's Long Goodbye and a box set of Stooges for Christmas one yr and my dad gave me a Playboy Playmates DVD (Jenny McCarthy hitchhiking nekkid in it....sproing!....for some reason) that musta come w his subscription, my best pal gimme the season of Breaking Bad that my house was in and my cousin has given me all his films - Memoirs of a Geisha, Nine, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 & Into the Woods, a couple of which are still sealed. Never bought A DVD - i was a VHS, serial-recorder guy right up til my last one died this yr - so that's that.

ETA: Oh, wait. A guy here in FFA - a big reg who dont post anymore except in GMTAN & i just checked a dozen pgs looking for his name and couldn't find it (ETA 2.0 - it was Frostillicus) - who had a video store in Minny mailed me a whole box of DVDs years back. My duplex neighbor then was an Irani medical resident who went nuts when he saw this treasure trove, so i told him to take what he wanted. He took the whole damn box but then he and his Kosovan wife invited me over for showings of each of the movies, complete with a Persian/Balkan buffet of bowls of things that i think all were made of chick peas. Turned out to be a great friend & introduced me to Stella Artois, so i'll be eternally grateful for that FFApers gift, as soon as i remember his name.
