my wife was on our home PC one night and when I got on the computer later, I discovered 8 or 10 Computer Cleaner-ish scam software things had been loaded on our machine. I cleaned most of it via uninstall, ran MSE scan and malwarebytes. I deleted any add-ons in Firefox. After all of that, of course, the computer is still a little sluggish and for the first time ever, I get random audio ads to pop up (really, audio only) when on FBG (such as Aetna). I've done Firefox reset settings and I'm running 2 AdBlock Plus Add-ons and nothing else. Any thoughts?

What uninstaller did you use? Some of them don't do a good job getting rid of everything.

I use IObit Uninstaller. If you open it up and look under Toolbars & Plugins you'll probably find a couple things you need to remove.

CCleaner

Run while in 'Safe Mode' in that order, and I would be surprised if errors/sluggishness persisted.
