There's one that looks a little "pre-planned" but that could also just be coincidental/similar taste situation and even if not, its not a huge deal. This is for fun and discussion about albums we love.

Unreliable as in...skewed? I mean, we've already discussed that we are going to have a lot more rock than rap or country. We are (largely) a bunch of middle-upper-middle aged men ranking albums. I doubt ANY top 300 from a larger sample size would have 5 Tool albums.

It isn't a criticism of you or the process. Still having a great time.

But I did find the irony of someone complaining The freaking Beatles were overrated as we introduced the 4th Tool album to the countdown very rich.

I think we could see 5, but I only voted for last night's. I am weird- i would say Tool is a favorite band, but i rarely listen to their albums because I tend to skip a lot of the weird filler tracks. 10,000 Days is the only one i listen to consistently anymore.

Looked at my rankings 100% we will see another one

I forget what is left, but i whiffed on one other. I had Lateralus in the car a lot and should have found points for that.

From the perspective of someone that was born more than a decade after their last album release, I don't understand the appeal of pre-66 Beatles, but 66-70 Beatles are one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. And Tool may be the best band since Led Zepellin began their fade. I didn't vote for Undertow though. Good, not great. I was surprised Fear made it, expected the 3 in the middle, and those unfamiliar with them should give them a spin or 4.

I was just referring to JML who said he considered finding another poster or two to "cook the books" with and try to get some of his albums on the list (after people made some jokes about the Rannous Block).

Obviously that doesn't really raise to the level of "nefarious" but the comment made me a little disappointed since as you said "there's nothing at stake", it's all for fun.

And yes - no other list would have 5 Tool albums on it - maybe one would appear but that's ok with me in this context.

It's certainly a lot clunkier than Excel. It's worth it to operate in a shared environment with other users, but most of my work requires flexibility that I've found frustrating trying to navigate with Google Docs, so when we use it I try to delegate it

Beautiful straight forward song writing, excellent harmonies, easy to sing a lot to hooks and especially in the 2 albums I mentioned, the start of their experimentation. My favorite Beatles period is that middle run of Help to Sgt Pepper

It's been a while, but from memory for me Help! began the transition, Rubber Soul sustained it, then it all connected with Revolver. To me all of those albums and Hard Days Night are pretty much perfect start to finish. No skips.

Glad to see this one make it, I didn’t really get into them until college. I remember seeing something about them on MTV before that, the guy playing 2 saxophones or whatever. When Sandman passed one of my college professors mentioned them and I ended up buying this CD and it got a ton of play back then. I still break it out fairly frequently

hard to pick a favorite but I’ll go with the title track Cure for Pain

I also really like I’m Free Now, Candy, Thursday but there really isn’t a bad song on this album

I would think @Ilov80s or any other jazz fans would certainly dig this.

I saw Morphine at South Street Seaport a month before Sandman died. Another huge musical talent cut short. I’m actually surprised it made the list though as it seems a lot of people don’t know them. But I still listen to this album frequently. (There’s that saxophone again.)

Little Earthquakes is the debut solo album by the American singer-songwriter Tori Amos, featuring the singles "Silent All These Years", "China", "Winter" and "Crucify". After Atlantic Records rejected the first version of the album, Amos began working on a second version with her then-boyfriend Eric Rosse. The album was first released in the UK on January 6, 1992, where it peaked at number 14 in the charts.

It was well received by critics and listeners. In the US, the album reached the top 60 of the Billboard 200. It is frequently regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time; it was voted number 73 in Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums and ranked number 233 on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all time.
