Conspiracy theorists unite - JFK assassination/Epstein files released! (1 Viewer)

Way to jump to conclusions there. It's more that both sides have had the chance to release the files and neither are.
The administration promised in February to release the files (see upthread), but they still have not. And lately they've sent out some spokespeople saying there's no sense releasing the files because "nothing to see here", which isn't real believable. Somebody in the administration stopped the release in February, in my view. There's no indication Musk has a copy of the files which he can release, but we certainly know the administration has it.

The whole Trump/Musk remake of Mean Girls isn't of much interest to me. The files are.

I'm skeptical of Musk's claim.
Seriously?

There are numerous photos and videos of Trump socializing with Epstein. Why would you not think Trump's in the files?

Pretty sure everyone in the government is hiding something at this point.
I don't think you're doing it in this case, but this is what I often hear when someone wants to discount something they don't or don't want to believe.
He flew on Epstein's plane for sure. That part is well documented. If that's what is "in the files" its a nothingburger and not new info. trump being on the Island would be new info and that's what people thinking Elon is alluding to. I'm skeptical that is that case.

Way to jump to conclusions there. It's more that both sides have had the chance to release the files and neither are. aka... everyone has something to cover up.
Those files aren't limited to "who visited the island". Much larger scope than that. I would find it absolutely shocking if Trump wasn't in the file. If people think "the files" are limited to the island visits they are uninformed.

I thought the file release would be more straight forward under this administration. I was obviously wrong there. Too much "power" tied up in those files, that I don't know if we ever see a full disclosure. The only thing left to assume is that its better for the entire government to pretend this blackmail network doesn't exists than to confront what would come out.

I'm sure the files encompass all of Epstein's associates and activities. The juicy part of the story is what happened on the island and that's what people want the answers to.

The nefarious activities were not limited to the island. Plenty of horrible things were done in FL and NY. And elsewhere

My issue with Musks comments is it shows me that he lacks integrity. I assume he knew whatever he knew prior to his leaving DC.

Now he wants to spill the beans after he loses contracts?
Well he hasn't lost any contracts yet. So far that threat is at the bluster stage.
Of course he knew whatever he knew for awhile. And he probably had an opportunity to be a true whistleblower by releasing it. But no. Information's not for little people like us I guess.

And wasn't it obvious to everyone else why they haven't been released??
Talking big about releasing them until you see Trump all over the pages.
I picture his team using sharpies constantly marking it up.

I assume its all leverage and blackmail. He doesnt release them and he gets concessions and favors to get his way. Its how EVERYTHING gets done in this country it seems.

Trump being included in the files with no context doesnt alarm me. These were high profile parties meant to put powerful people in compromising situations. I could see being there and after finding out what was going on - leaving and never going back.

I cant say - I could surely speculate but that wouldnt make me right.

My issue with Musks comments is it shows me that he lacks integrity.

You thought he had integrity before?

I still think he has more integrity than people who own his cars and now cover the logo with blue tape.

To answer your question - I dont know - Ive never met the man and neither have you.
Meh. I’ve seen enough. 14 kids with 4 women. He’s not winning any dad of the year contests. I put him and tyreek in the same boat. The way he treats employees. Both his and those that got the ax through doge. None of my opinion is politically based. I was certain he was a kook long before any involvement with politics.

I don't think we can limit this to just the Trump team covering things up. Haven't Bill Clinton and Bill Gates names also been tossed around? There is a lot of power with those 3 names alone. Probably several other .001%ers.

He's probably a dope, but he might not. Again, I dont know and Im not going to judge a person whom Ive never met.

Right. There's LOTS of gross even if you exclude the island

I have zero interest in discussing other peoples relationships with their children.

Also 14 kids with 4 women? I just read that he has 5 kids.

Now he wants to spill the beans after he loses contracts?

You're guilty here of the thing you complained about in the AI thread. He hasn't lost his contracts. It was a vendetta based threat is all. I let AI explain. Here's the summary to a much longer answer:

Trump cannot legally cancel SpaceX contracts unilaterally without violating the Federal Acquisition Regulation, which requires cause or public interest justification and formal procedures. SpaceX’s critical role in NASA and DoD operations, combined with potential legal challenges and Congressional oversight, makes cancellation highly improbable and likely unlawful if motivated by personal vendetta. The feud’s public nature, amplified by Musk’s retracted threat to decommission Dragon, suggests posturing rather than actionable policy.

Im guilty of being wrong. AI had nothing to do with my response.

Fatness already addressed this.

I mean I googled it and asked the all knowing miracle, chatgpt and I didn't see anything you're saying.

I mean I googled it and asked the all knowing miracle, chatgpt and I didn't see anything you're saying.

This is what I got:

Elon Musk has 14 children with four women.

  • Justine Wilson (ex-wife, married 2000–2008): Six children, including one who died at 10 weeks old from SIDS (Nevada Alexander), and five living children (twins Vivian and Griffin, triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian).
  • Grimes (Claire Boucher, former partner): Three children (X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus).
  • Shivon Zilis (Neuralink executive): Four children (twins Strider and Azure, Arcadia, and Seldon Lycurgus).
  • Ashley St. Clair (conservative influencer): One child (Romulus).
Note: Some sources suggest the number of children could be higher, but 14 is the publicly confirmed count.

Ahhhh I was confused and tired at the time. Thought he was talking about trump for some reason.

Too much heat and sun so I took a nap.

I’m going back to sleep. No need to read up on Elons kids. That’s weird.

High-ranking government officials (Bondi and Bongino I believe) have said they're read the files and there's nothing new to release.
This means absolutely nothing. Note they don’t say there’s nothing “relevant” to release. Only that’s there’s nothing “new” to release. No ****. It’s already there.

If there was anything remotely incriminating with respect to DJT, then whoever was pulling the strings with respect to the Biden administration releases the relevant parts at some point prior to November, it's that simple.

Nah. It's mutually assured destruction. Powerful players on both political spectrums got the goods on each other. I don't think selective nukes can be launched. I don't trust any release, after all this time, to not be carefully redacted.

Not sure on that. If there was anything significant enough to completely torpedo the DJT 2024 run he is not in a position to release anything that destroys the other side in the first place. Hence why I say it doesn't exist. There's absolutely damning things in there in relation to various people that promote the non-MAGA cause but if Harris wins we never hear about them. Whether we do hear about them in this actual universe is more a question for Kash, Bondi etc

I know a lot of people who bought Teslas before Musk amped up his (bad) behavior. Many of them are embarrassed to have purchased his products.

I mean, most of us focus on the quality and price of what we purchase, with little regard to the ethics of production, or personalities of company CEOs. I'm certainly guilty of that. Do you scrutinize what you buy to that extent?

As an aside, we just bought an EV, a Hyundai. Tesla definitely offered more bang for the buck, and clearly has been instrumental in EVs gaining traction. Still, I elected not to consider buying one. Is that as bad as covering a logo with tape? What should those owners do instead?

Um, I think you made my point. It's mutually assured destruction. Seems obvious to me after all this time. Some of the most prominent influencers are coming to the same conclusion. Rogan, who's been one of the loudest asking for release, read Elon's post while interviewing Kash and said Elon needs to have his phone taken away. Suddenly he wants less discussion? I dunno. Of what we do know, Trump is THE most prevalent and obvious player in Epstein's dirty little world. Of course, that stuff is mostly coming from Wolff who is a dubious source.

i don't really care anymore because even if we eventually see the files, they've been combed over so heavily, we ain't getting the truth.

Here's a conspiracy theory. I think the Trump/Musk public breakup was just theatre for the masses. It all sounded very fake and planned. If they actually were fighting then it would have got much uglier imo.
No one could have been able to predict Reality TV shenanigans. No one. :oldunsure:

ETA: The ratings will be YUGE!

It’s a car they already bought. Embarrassed that they purchased a vehicle? It’s corny. Elon has always been a “lunatic” and the only reason people hate him is they are told to do so.

I just can’t stand all the propaganda and subterfuge (from all sides).

ETA - I shouldn't even let this stuff bother me. I’m more upset that I let it.

Gotta get back to the island mentality. I gotta get back there man. It’s calling me. I hate it here.

To gain what?
That's a good question. If I was to guess, it's mostly for Musk to save face among the anti-Trump people because it is hurting Tesla's sales. Another possible reason is to create distraction which is Trumps favourite political game. And finally, these are two people that love to stay in the media limelight. This is just another way to do that.

I am not sure Occam's razor is the most applicable principle to use in the conspiracy theory thread.

I think you’re underestimating people’s ability to think independently.

Heck, I had 2 separate reservations for Model 3s at their launch: one for my friend, one for me. Waited in line to place the deposits.

At the time, I knew nothing about Musk, other than the vehicles produced by Tesla.

Fast forward 9 years, a lot has changed. I don’t really keep up with the news, nor social media, but it’s nearly impossible to avoid hearing about Musk’s shenanigans. Is some of it propaganda? Sure, but many of his actions are irrefutably despicable, imo.

As a result, I didn’t even consider buying a Tesla. I’ve never owned one, but definitely can imagine feeling something other than “corny”, had I gone through with the purchase years ago.

FWIW, my friend ended up buying the model 3 I reserved, and another a few years later. He’s considering trading it for a Hyundai.

Also, the islands do a pretty good job insulating one from the political nonsense. There’s still a divide, but it isn’t nearly as pervasive as the picture you guys paint about life in the continental US.

This reads less like being interested in evidence being released, and more like more like pre-characterizing whatever evidence gets released.

I absolutely don’t think most people think for themselves. Guilty as charged. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m not gonna lie to you. To be fair to them- they are BOMBARDED with propaganda.

Trading a car that’s already been purchased seems……unnecessary and silly but it’s not my car.

I also don’t get the logic of not wanting to own an American made car because you don’t like Elon - and then turning around and buying a foreign car.

Does not compute for me.

Those are my thoughts - people can do what they like.

Buying American is one factor, along with many others one may consider - if they think for themselves. Otherwise, we’d all be driving Kia EV6s.
Roughly half of new vehicles sold in the U.S. are assembled within the country, according to an analysis from Cars.com. But even those vehicles rely on parts imported from other countries.

USA TODAY analyzed reports released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to determine whether any vehicles sold in the U.S. are fully made in America. According to the NHTSA data, for all models assembled and available for sale in the U.S., 47% of the parts (by value) originated from the U.S. or Canada.
The data shows no evidence that any vehicle is made 100% in the United States. Some automakers, though, have a greater share of parts originating in the U.S. or Canada. For example, 69% of the parts (by value) in Tesla's vehicles are produced in the U.S. or Canada. Honda also stands out — its dozen U.S. manufacturing plants allow the company to assemble certain vehicles within the country with American-made parts.
Here’s a ranking of vehicles in the report by percentage of parts originating in the U.S. and Canada — the Kia EV6 has the highest share of U.S. and Canadian parts by value
TBH, it wasn’t a priority for us. Hyundai (of which Kia is a subsidiary) is on the higher side regarding use of American parts, however, and they produce many of their vehicles in the US. Surprisingly, several of the top US manufacturers/vehicles made of American-sourced parts aren’t headquartered here.

Tesla is near the top, but many traditional American companies aren’t. Ford, for example.

But since none are entirely US-derived, how should one choose?

ETA To take it a step further, how does prioritizing American-made/sourced vehicles reflect thinking for oneself? Blind patriotism isn't much different than partisanship IMO.
